so Oliver enjoyed the summer months as it got rather warm here in the Cali bay area. he lives in his thick plexiglass shed that has a 4x6 heat mat and a ceramic heating element that is on 24/7 . he also has coco coir in the side as a substrate. I have a thermometer taking the ambient...
So Oliver is bigger and I had to upgrade his pool. Here are some photos but I am concerned about the larva inside the pool. We have a small pump that keeps the water moving a bit, but how do I get rid of the larva? I thinks misquotes any idea what it is and how to get rid of it and keep it away.
the time has come to where Oliver is too big for his indoor enclosure. (bittersweet time for my mother and I , as he is not her grand tortoise).I'm planning to get the Kane heat matt.what wattage would you guys recommend? the outside house is 45 1/2X40 in. insulated heat box.
thanks for your...

Has anyone had either burn their tortoise?
Where would it best be to mount the heating mat?

Oliver has grown since I got him almost two years ago. This is his update. I also wanted to ask as winter is approaching should I keep him in his out door enclosure or his inside enclosure this winter? Also keep in mind there is a stray cat that roams around but hasn't seen to bother him at all...
I was feeding Oliver some cactus pads and as he was eating he was blowing bubbles from his nose. He hasn't ever done this before only when he eats the pads. He also makes about of burping and gurgling sounds after eating something juicy
So my family will b camping this weekend and no one will be home to take care Oliver and let him outside. He has been outside everyday for weeks and then I put him inside at night. Will he b ok if I just put a bunch of food and water in his indoor enclosure. And since he's been outside so much...
