Thank you for appreciating my ambitions, I am willing to help others until i can no longer do so. At this point it is still feasible to help other rescue facilities. Also i would like to gather ideas for the current sulcata owners that live in the northern states. Ideas about how to keep their...

Looking for foster homes in southern states

RE: Land donation I would just like to add that there is now a forum out there for supporting colder climate sulcata owners. http://northernsulcata.proboards.com/ there are NO experts here just simply people that love sulcata tortoises.

Looking for foster homes in southern states

RE: Land donation This is more to the point; the land is NOT a necessity. If someone wanted to donate or share their land that they own to help foster sulcatas then great i am all about that. When i stated that i wanted southwestern land it was only because that is the ideal location, however...

Looking for foster homes in southern states

As a founding member of the northern sulcata club we are facing problems with over croweded resuce facilities. i have been in contact with several rescue sites across the US and it seems to be a common issue. My question is, is there someone out there in the southwestern parts of the US that...

    My setup for now

Well, I am glad to hear that you do plan to separate them. The sooner the better, I was wondering with you living upstate New York how much time dose your tortoise get outside vs. inside. I know here in Michigan is horrible I can only let mine out 4 months out of the year.

    Humidity Solution

You are right about the time it takes to see a difference in pyramiding. this dose pose a question though, what are the "go to" plants to add to add to a tortoise table that is a good food source as well as being able to humidify the table? Or are there plants that are meant just to add humidity...

    Mbd?

i agree with whats being said here, i think that its not serious and will probably grow out of it over time, great work keeping the humidity up and the calcium added. Be sure to replace the uv bulbs when they say to according to the box to insure that your sully is getting the proper uv's it needs.

    L shaped enclosure?

i think it would be okay for space conservation, however, for your turtle the more open surface area the better.

    Sizes (Greeks, Hermann's, Russians)

RE: Rescue I would be more open to new tort owners taking on a rescue. As long as they do the research and recognize the responsibilities that they are taking on. Otherwise you are promoting breeders that sell to people that don't understand what they are taking on. Not all breeders. Sent...

    sulcata combo habitat help!

I think that if they want hole to burrow in they will help themselves to dig it, but remember, they only do that if the above ground conditions are too hot and they want to seek cooler temps. If you provide the high humidity jungle I think the tortoise will be happy. Sent from my LG-LS720 using...
