Hello again everyone!
It has honestly been ages since I have posted on this forum.
Since around 2013 in fact when My Little Greek tortoise, Squirtle was still a very, very small tort.
If you can tell from my old avatar.
Turrning, 5 in October, I have always referred and believed for him to be...
I definitely will.
Love how his patterns and colors have grown darker and deeper since he first arrived :)
[hr]
Not definite but he is between 5-6 months of age now :)
Been quite a while since I've posted anything.
Busy bee at work & a few troubles at home.
But a quick photo of our Greek tort, Squirtle :D
Growing bigger & bigger by the day.
Seeing him every day does make it a but hard to notice difference in size, but I def notice him being quite larger than...
Re: Strange Shell Markings? =/
Thank you very much for the thread Tom.
The dehydrating factor actually makes a lot of sense because in this situation as I've said, I've slacked a bit in our Greek tort's care.
I used to soak every day, gotten down to two maybe three times a week.
I'd spray his...
Re: Strange Shell Markings? =/
And is your Thor from what I saw from a recent post.
Love that their colors are growing darker and more defined :D
They're growing up!
Re: Strange Shell Markings? =/
Really?? Ahh I hope so.
Had me pretty worried.
Especially since I just found that spider in his enclosure a few hours ago. In his favorite hiding spot as well.
I am deathly afraid of spiders, but I went full out scary movie status in killing this spider :@ lol...
Hello everyone.
Been quite a while since I've posted.
Been a busy bee at work, training for a new job position.
I am the owner of a 5 month old Ibera Greek tortoise, Squirtle.
He is definitely showing signs of growth, but I may admit with my busy schedule I have slacked just a tiny bit with his...
Anyone else grow up watching her movies as a child?
Wishing you had this lovely child's bubbly & enthusiastic acting ability?
Dancing along with her in her movies as a child and wishing you could have those gorgeous curled blonde locks just as she had.
Shirley Temple, you touched the lives...
Your tort is absolutely beautiful :D
They have the funniest ways of sleeping at times, for sure.
Does seem he is getting acquainted with his enclosure & getting used to his surroundings. Very nice :)
Now that even though not proven, is definitely a scary thought.
That our little critters would actually want to cause harm to themselves :(
Are there other ways to tell if your tortoise is stressed? What causes them to become stressed out?

I may move his pots a bit from the corner.
I...
Thank you very much for the lid idea.
I currently use the lid of the container to mostly cover the enclosure to try & keep some humidity in as I also struggle to keep it high for our hatchling.
The pot is pretty tall for him, but I have seen him try to climb over or try to squeeze past the...
Hello again everyone.
Well it seems despite changes to his enclosure, I still find our Greek tortoise hatchling flipped over nearly every day.
Once last week & 3 times this week :@
Nearly every morning when I wake up, he's flipped.
Moved his half log out, added 2 pot hides, blocked corners...
I would also love to hear other opinions about this subject.
I currently have the exact same issue.
Having to spray my substrate to get a higher humidity which only lasts a few hours even with a partially closed enclosure top due to my MVB which dries a majority of it quickly.
Where did you...
