Thanks for the responses. I have sense changed her enclosure and the hide is much improved. I am using a old plastic plant container which she seems to love. There was a crack in the container so I got a sponge and ran a cotton sock thru the sponge on one end and placed the other end in a glass...

Does anyone know of a tortoise rescue group in Colorado? I would love another tortoise but feel rescuing might be the best way for a tortoise to get a happy home . Or maybe I'll just have to get a baby:) wanting to weigh the options! Thank you!

Curious about personalities on these torts:) i am fascinated by pancake torts! I have a Leopard tort, my first tort ever , and I enjoy learning about all the others:) yes I am afraid I have caught the tortoise bug and hope to get another or two someday :)

I just got some packets of flowers for my tortoise garden I will be starting soon:) lots of stuff I know are safe but a few I am unsure about. Is black eyed Susan vine safe and single moss rose? Can not find them on either of the sites that list plants for Leo!

I just bought a big tote and I just noticed some of you use foil too protect the plastic lids from the lights...I want to do this but it makes me nervous:/ how much foil do u use? I may do this tonight .

I need to build a new enclosure. Mold took over my enclosure and I am thinking this could be a part of the reason my tort has been sick. I have her in a temperary 50 gallon plastic tub with new substrate for now . What wood and sealant is best?

I had some wheat berries growing in her enclosure so I never mixed that part :( there is some mold in that area...I better find a new way to keep fresh grass in her enclosure.

I'm stopping the meds because my vet is concerned the meds are causing a bad reaction... It's baytril and some Leo torts have bad reactions to it. After she would get it she would seem worse off , not moving at all , so going back on Monday to vet. I can now afford to do more test and hopefully...

Ascott...no worries :) yes with just a quick visit we are treating what is common. She did say her mouth looks good after looking in there...not sure what ailments would effect inside mouth? I am very happy to report that Penelope is much more active already today:) she has spent sometime...
