    Angulates breakfast

Here are a few pictures of my Angulates enjoying a meal. They normally get to eat plants that are grown for them from their natural range, but every now and then they get a little extra, topped with calcium powder and multivitamin powder. The females are producing eggs quite regularly so a...

    Confiscated Leopard Tortoise

Hi Tom I'm in the Eastern Cape. Leopard tortoises are possibly the most commonly kept species in South Africa. We are required to have a permit to keep or transport any wild reptile species. As he is a leopard tortoise he would look exactly like the ones we get in our Province. This species...

    Confiscated Leopard Tortoise

Hi guys. Unfortunately because we have no locality on him letting him go is not an option. As some of the previous replies correctly stated we have no idea how long he has been in captivity or if he could potentially spread diseases to other wild tortoises. There is also the problem of...

I used zucchini and carrots for veg, but not too often. I believe too much sugar is very bad for them. [hr] [hr]...

Hello to all my fellow tortoise enthusiasts!

My name is Michael and I’m from South Africa. I have been an avid herper for about 18 years keeping mainly snakes and a few lizard species. I occasionally would keep the odd G. pardalis while it was between homes. Recently I decided it was time to give these fascinating herps a try and I...
