2 Juvenile Redfoots For Sale w/ supplies $250 OBO

Hi, I just recently got these guys -- maybe a month ago. I'd like to keep them but I found out I'm leaving the country for over a month in December and don't really have any viable options to keep these guys safe and happy. These are in the 4-5" range and have a very small amount of...

    Heat emitters outdoors

Hi, I've completed my enclosure and am wondering the best way to mount ceramic heat emitters in a way that they wont be a fire hazard or get ruined. With my sulcata he has a huge house so its no problem, we mount them inside, but this juvenile redfoot enclosure has a much smaller hide. Any ideas?

    Lead in soil

Does anyone have experience in building outdoor enclosures in polluted areas? I'm building one now and it just hit me that because of the flooding in this area during Katrina, the lead levels in the soil are very high in many places. For that reason they often recommend that gardens be built as...

    Painting outdoor enclosures?

The home depot near me is going out of business and there are some crazy sales on lumber just in time for me to build an outdoor enclosure for my two new redfoots. I know that pine tends to warp and or rot in humid environments, but I also have a lot of spare exterior house paint around. Im...

    Leopards in New Orleans

Hi, I've successfully kept sulcatas, redfoots, yellowfoots and cherryheads but I'm starting to investigate keeping leopard tortoises. The only thing is, I just moved to New Orleans where the relative humidity is very high -- so it's great for the south american species but perhaps not so much...

    My 6 year old

This is Cortez and I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd post a pic. He's about 6 years old and huge now! He lives year round in NC outdoors in a huuuuge fenced yard that is lightly wooded and has planted grass areas for him. I bought him when he was about 3" long as a yearling. Let me know what...

Getting back into it in New Orleans

Hi all, After living in less tortoise friendly climes, I'm back to the south (new orleans) and doing my research to get back into tortoises. I used to keep cherry heads, box turtles, yellow foots, and sulcatas. I'm now looking to get into leopards, cherry heads and star tortoises. Look...

WTT Dart Frogs for young tortoise (New Orleans)

Hi, Used to keep lots of torts but sold them when I got into dart frogs. I'm in New Orleans now rather than NYC (much more suitable for tortoises), and I'd love to get back into it. I'm interested in leopards, redfoots, cherry heads, and star torts but will entertain pretty much any offer, so...
