Meet Raphael. He enjoys running in circles and big leafy greens. Although no one has yet seen him eat. One moment foods there and the next it's gone.

I guess that would explain why he was such a gentle eater. He only ate small bites so it took him forever to finish one leaf. As long as he was eating I figured he just wasnt in a rush.
I am not really sure what happened yet. He did have a salivary gland infection, which was drained. Maybe it was worse than previously thought. I only had him, Sheldon, for a few weeks. He seemed happy, but it's possible he was sick before I got him. I dont know. I knew he was barely eating and...
The vet said it was a swollen gland. I forgot the name for it at the moment. It was drained and now he has to be watched to make sure it was fully drained and is not gonna cause more problems.
Well guys.. The past few days things have turned for the worse. He hasn't eaten in three days and all he does is burrow and sleep. The swelling has gone down to wear its a more defined blister bubble that he rubs on his arm. He will be seeing the vet tomorrow.
This morning he appears to be the same. Although I notice he rubbed the spot a few times with his arms. Pain? Itchy? Guess ill see what happens when I come back from work.
It's on one side and it was visible today. It could have started over the weekend little by little without me noticing because I was out a lot for the long weekend.
That is what kinda confuses me because it is lower than the ear. It's more like the area that's similar to where our lymph nodes are. If that makes sense?

At the moment it is not a defined bump but a swollen mass
Hi. I came home from work today to see a lump on my tortoise's under jaw area. It's swollen, but squishy as though its more like extra skin than a lump because I can spread it out. Despite my prodding and poking he didn't really seem to mind. He ate and was still very active. He likes to climb...
I've had my russian tortoise, Sheldon, for about a week and I've noticed that he has trouble biting his food as though his bite is not strong. He has to bite a few times to break the leaves. I've tortoise sitted for my cousin's russian tortoise before I got mine and hers always chomped with no...
Hi my name is Kelli and I am from Connecticut. My story begins with my previous pets, Timmy and Princess. When I was 12 my dad came home from a business trip and surprised me with two baby red ear slider turtles, Timmy and Princess, that were no bigger than a quarter. He knew I love turtles and...
