Its going pretty well Tammy, thanks. Biggest one, 1st photo is pushing on 7” slc. Oh, oh and I already got flashed, so definitely have at least two males. PS: Their penis is black.?
Second photo, few of them are very aggressively, bold and go right for my hand when they are hungry. Wish I could...
Hello and welcome....it’s been a while. Here is the update on the group of 5 hatchlings I obtained in fall of 2017 (group A) and another two groups Of 3 and 4 hatchlings I obtained in fall of 2018 (Group B and C). At the end of the post are few photos of some group A group B, C.
Overall it’s...
At this stage half the 6x3 water proofed enclosure is used for climate management, half the habitat. The water reservoir with heat cables and small fan mostly control the climate set up with spider robotics temp and humidity controller.
PA here and here you go....this enclosure has impressa in it - same idea. It is fully enclosed with its own mini climate. Very high humidity and spraying, keep the shell saturated with moisture, with wet dry carapace cycles. They are shell rot resistant but no constant sagging wet floor...
Hello everyone and welcome. Been a while, quick update on the young Impressa group of 5. I have had these guys over 9 months now and all appear to be doing well at this point. My guess is they are a year or just over a year old.
Below are some recent photos. Biggest one is 4 1/2” smallest 3”...
Thanks everyone. I got the hatchlings last fall from the same group offered as did everyone else at that time, I believe. My understanding is that the 5 got have changed hands couple of times.
I was given extensive details on and expectations of the animals prior to purchase. Based on that I...
I was lucky to acquired 5 hatchlings in mid October of 2017. All 5 are doing very well at this point, it wasn't easy, but there has been progress on my and their end, things are getting much easier.
Given how uncommon these guys are, thought I would quickly share just couple of photos for...
The two good eaters here will eat oyster mushroom head the size of their shell in one sit....um where does it go? And I don't think they would mind eating just that day in and day out.
And here is the odd number, biggest wimp of the group but prefers to be hand fed. I couldn't help myself to...
It is man made pond in residential area of Flemington NJ. The pond has been here about 15-20 years, it connects downstream of a natural pond. Most of the life has made it down over the years. There is few species of turtles in it and number of species of fish and snakes including striped bass...
Here to share couple of turtles nesting. First one is a big red ear slider covering up her nest at 9:00 am about 250 yards quite far away from the pond and in the middle of a huge public lawn. It hasn't rained in weeks, how she had enough urine to wet and soften the dry hard soil is amazing. She...
Reduced price for TFO members only. $275 plus shipping. Probably lowest price anywhere for animal this size. Hatchlings sell for $200.
Last chance before posting on Fauna at higher price.
Any T5HO tube (including Arcadia) will power on any T5HO fixture.
T5HO tube is NOT to be powered on T5 fixture.
Any T8 tube will power on any standard T8 fixture.
So called T8HO tube will also power on any standard T8 fixture.
Slight wattage discrepancy as mentioned by the OP is of no...
Nice opportunity for someone wanting to experience this species. Healthy, heavy, alert, ravenous, unsexed. Hatched late 2012, now well over 7", raised from hatchling in a very wet/damp/humid and warm environment. Exceptionally flat (glass like) carapace scutes, nice large leg scales (no pine...
The Zoomed calcium block is made of CaSO4 (Calcium Sulfate). My tortoises are quite obsessed with it consuming rather large quantities. Should it be avoided?
(The block also changes color under certain moist conditions to greenish blue, would this be due to Cobalt Chloride??)
Give medium/large coco husk chunks/chips a try(not coco coir). They are soft, smell great, retain water/moisture yet allow plenty of ventilation around plastron for it to stay relatively dry.
Soak in water for 10 mins then place in enclosure.
Get rid of everything else including moss.
While I fully do agree with your response it does not address my inquiry. Ill try again, perhaps I was vague. In other posts you state the CFLs with bad phosphorus coating are the culprit of possible eye/health issues. Which ones? What manufacturer(s), models, wattage, date of manufacture is to...
