Young Eastern Box Turtle for adoption

Hi, I am located in the southern states, why so? Thank you for the comment! I am moving around and can't give her what I could before. I really hate to see her go but she needs security. If I was selfish I would keep her but thats not good for her.

Young Eastern Box Turtle for adoption

Hello,I am looking to adopt my turtle out to a person who has a little more experience with boxies. I am also sending an email to the breeder, so if he would like her back I will update the thread, but I would love to have someone interested just in case he is full. I've had her for a few...

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked

Update time! After a bad scare last summer, I am working on a drainage system in Vodka's outdoor home. It's all GA red clay so I am removing it and filling the holes in with topsoil moss and mulch. I will be spreading the braodleaf seed mix and throwing a few other edible plants in there for...

    Phoenix Worms

I am sorry I have been off the forum for a long time. They don't need to be fed! They're so low matienence I love it. I usually order the 150 size and within three weeks all are gone. I usually feed them with only one other protein source so they dont pupate off on me. Feeding them makes them...

    Phoenix Worms

I used pheonix worms for my girl and she grew nicely on them, loved them and I loved caring for them! Easy to feed very nice nutrients and she had a growth spurt on them. I attached a very old (like a year old) picture of her. She LOVES them and I think they'll be great for your little guy too.

    Balder, the new Foster

Short update, he was beginning to become possessive of me and starting fights with my other two dogs. I thought I found him a home but after a week, they've decided he is too big for them. I can't take him back as he is starting fights with my dogs, and is a danger to my cats. I'm doing my best...

    Balder, the new Foster

Balder also cuddles <3 He likes to put his head in your lap while you scratch his butt, and eventually flop in your lap. Then he curls up like this.

    Balder, the new Foster

Meet Balder! He's a Basset hound Rough Collie mix. I was called while at work by a frantic 14 year old who was worried he'd be put down. So at 11:30 at night I picked this dude up. It'd been a roller coaster ride. He's a sweet dog and loves people and other dogs, but eats my house. Yes EATS my...

    Tort vs truck!

This is how my Russian acts when she sees a cat. It's still funny people think torts are slow.

    Critique my box turtle

We suggest the plastic totes because they're generally cheaper. 20 for 50 gal vs 100 for 50 gal. Plus the clear sides confuse torts and turts. An adult Boxie REALLY needs to be in a 5x5 ft MIN outside enclosure, but if you can't winter them outdoors or not comfortable hibernating etc etc the...

    Critique my box turtle

I need some more up to date pictures, but this is Spook's home, she lives in a Cement mixing tub outside for the summer, and below it is an old picture of her in her old water bowl. She's quite a small turtle, about three inches so she's grown quite a bit and her water bowl is quite large for...

    Critique my box turtle

Heat rocks have no control over temp, so they can get so hot that they can burn the reptile. A good idea for now would be a nice 50 gal tubaware from lowes, home depot, any home improvement store. Mix topsoil with the blocks of echo earth (One would be fine for the 50 gal) A nice glazed terra...

    Box turtle

I agree with Elk, owning these guys is in no way cheap and if your family is supportive and wants to help pay for food housing lights etc then sure by all means get a turtle! If they won't help you get a turtle then I'd say wait till you have a job and then get you a friend! Great thing is...

    Help please.... (species I.D.)

Here's what I have my baby in, a large cement mixing tub with holes drilled in the bottom, I added gravel that was larger then the holes to keep the dirt out of the holes for drainage. Mixed top soil and echo earth (Those can be found at a pet store they come in blocks that have to be hydrated)...

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked

I knew the growth was a sign if good care for her I just wanted to make sure she was alright! That's the second time I've heard of Spook having an irregular shell, it's worrying me a little. Though Vodka is not pyramiding she's just got a hunched back for some reason.
