Major changes! Sorry about the dry water bowls. I had the watering can out with me, but it was my first time ever seeing him graze and I got really excited and didn't want to disturb him (he HATES it when I make it rain), but I got him wet anyway and washed and got water into both water dishes...
The plants, especially the grass (YAY GRASS!) has finally started to grow. I will have to dig up the whole open area since hubbs didn't bury the grass seed there and our soil is hard-packed clay, so there's no chance it'll grow as is. :p
Still need to get rocks and such. I've been extremely ill...
The roof is open under the tarp. The tarp honestly is the roof, with 3 metal beams underneath that hold it up. You could easily fasten chicken wire to it if you wanted something extra up top.
Plants should ship tomorrow. I had to wait for GO to get some new stock in :) I will definitely...
My Greek is currently living in a 40 gal reptile tank. It looks big on a shelf, but once you put the tort and all its stuff in you'll realize just how small it is. I HATE it. HE hates it. And because the top is mesh, it doesn't hold in heat/humidity in the slightest. The clear sides also cause...
Thanks, Lyn! The first thing he did was poke his head out of the bars. We will be lining the sides and back with wood to keep him from doing this.
leigti - We have buried the chicken wire a bit so he can dig a little, though more space for digging never hurts. We will be lining the bottom with...
He's up and exploring a bit. I put the shell of a sandbox turtle up on he back corner to provide some shade now that the sun has moved.
I actually think 'he' might be a 'she'. Cutie, either way.
We finally got a beautiful day without rain! So we spent it getting GusGus' enclosure up (hubbs did pretty much everything). We are waiting on seeds so that we can plant it, but he can't overnight in there anyway as we are due for more rain/flooding and the nights are still too cold. Still, at...
Ahahahaha!!! No worries, I've done it! Thank you SO much for continuing to reply and being so helpful. <3 I've got it up now and I'll be going through the Plant Database to look in to these plants. You're awesome!
So I've been working on a plant list for GusGus' outdoor enclosure which should have been up two weeks ago, but thanks to daily rainstorms we've just barely squeaked out digging up the area where the enclosure will go.
I've put some things from GrowOrganic.com on the list and the mixtures I...
Can I ask why a rectangular shape is better? Hubbs is actually pushing for a more square enclosure, versus one that is "track-like". My yard is small though, so I'm not 100% positive I can accomodate a 10' long enclosure PLUS all of husband's insane requirements.
So I saw an outdoor enclosure made with a galvanized rabbit run that collapses. The instant I mentioned an outdoor enclosure, husband went off. He started going on about gangs (we don't have any activity anywhere near my house), angry neighbors (none of those either) and basically insisting our...
Gomberg, that does make sense! Screwing and unscrewing the boards doesn't cause threading issues, though? I guess you wouldn't be doing it very often. Do you move the screws at all to prevent this or just use the holes you've already made?
T.G. I super-appreciate these words of encouragement! My hubbs is Air Force, too. We had Japan on the Dream Sheet, and I still want to go, but I recently made him change it to all Stateside bases because we have the animals and I am in school full-time trying to figure out what the heck to do...
