For my finals in photography, my topic of choice is "Squirrel vision"
I need to capture what it would be like to view the world from a squirrels eye. The difficulty lies in having the image look as if its from a point of view of a small animal rather than just a scene shot.
The assignment...
I finally got free time to post some photos so here it is. THe text codes is too messy so I'm not gonna try to organize it.

I figured instead of using a heat emitter over night, it be more cost efficient to use heat mat as a substrate heater. I keep red foots so my substract is always moist. To keep it moist, I pour cups and cups of water on top.
So I'm wondering if my the heat mat is waterproof.
Hi,
I just switched over to mercury vapor bulbs but this weird thing happens. I turned it on for about 30 minutes then I turned it off. When I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't turn on. I thought it burned out on the very first try... 30 minutse later, I tried to turn it on and it works...
The purpose of soaking is just to encourage drinking right?
I notice that my tortoises either drink the second they enter water, or they don't. If they decide not to drink, then they probably wont no matter how long I soak. So I actually soak them before everyday before every meal for 1...
If they have, did they let go, whats your story?
They really don't look like they bite...
Well my tortoise never bit me but just now, my one of my turtle did. For the first time in 5 years, my little (or big, 7 inches) turtle locked on to a pinch of flesh on my palm and wouldn't let go. I...
Just curious, would you rather have your tortoise over fed or underfed.
I think answer may vary if the question was would you rather have a fat tortoise or a skinny tortoise.
I'm just curious. I've heard people say feed as much as theyll eat until they walk away.
I haven't tried this yet, but to me they never seem to get full. I think they have to eat a LARGE amount before theyll actually walk away.
My mom works at a hotel so she always bring veggies home.
I think those are every possible plant inside the bag.
I don't need to know the name, its very unlikely I'll remember them. I'm very visual though, so I placed numbers next to the veggies. Once I know which are fine to eat, I'll...
Ok, heres the story.
On November 29th, I placed an order on some live plants, a CHE, and some shipping supplies. I got an email confirming my order and they'll send a shipping confirmation. I never got the shipping confirmation email. But I thought thats fine, Ive had that happen with other...
Heres a few random pic since I have my camera out
I can't get a close up pic since they keep shrinking their head it when the light goes off on camera.
I had to do it at a distance so they dont flinch. On few of the pics, look around the neck area. There seem to be patches of brown skin...

I'm just curious. All proper reptile setups have UVB lamps, not including nocturnal types and rainforest species. And they need it for calcium binding, most usually don't supplement them.
But for other pets like...hamsters, birds, dogs, etc. Dogs get sunlight during walks but I doubt its too...
Since other tortoises can get RI from high humidity, are redfoot's anatomy of their respiratory track and lungs structured differently to handle high humidity?
Has anyone's RF got RI before because of humidity?
I'm asking because my humidity is high enough where if I run my finger through...
I've read it turns hard pretty quickly after they hatch. They're born in 09 but not sure which month. They're roughly 2 inches. 2.5 inches at most. I can't find my ruler, I'm using half of my thumb as 1 inch.
When I pick them up to examine them, the rest of the shell is hard except the...
I'm thinking about ordering live Tillandsia for decoration in my enclosure. Is it bad in any way if my redfoots eat it, or will they even eat it? It doesn't look very "leafy" since those plants look very thick.
I want some decoration in my enclosure for my redfoots. Its only cyress mulch, a zoomed heat cave, and a yellow golf ball in the middle (don't ask lol).
Most the site I see sells a small fake bush for around 4-5$. Seems a bit pricy...
Any recommended sites to buy decoration?
Yesteryday when I was examining my tortoise, I noticed some yellowish area. It sorta look like splinttered wood. I'm not home right now so I can't provide pictures yet. But I'm guessing its either shell rot or fungus, those are the only possibilities unless thats just how the pastron looks. My...
Its for my turtles not tortoise. I don't remember when I last purchased the bulb, but I think its about to be 6 month soon so I'll need to replace it. I don't remember which bulb I bought or anything about UVB since its quite some time ago.
I came across...
I've read quite a few things about it and it seems real nice. I'm thinking about getting one.
One info I didn't come across is if the fog is warm or water temperature?
Also how adjustable is the machine? Can you set low fog or high fog or can you set intervals..like fog every hour? 3 hour?
