    Girl??

Hi, I've been looking for a female star for a while, but want to get one as a juvenile. I know, risky business. I've just come across a 2 yr-old female (incubated to be female) and the owner seems to be genuine enough and is looking to re-home her tortoise. Just wanted to know what the experts...

    Dreaded boy or girl question!

Hi, I know it is probably too early to tell but would like to know what everyone thinks? Tootsie on the left was incubated to be a girl and Charlie on the right to be a boy. Charlie is definitely a boy. I would be interested to hear your opinion on whether you think Tootsie could be a girl...

    Tortoise Bunker Bed

My stars have finally taken to using their hides regularly. However, Charlie the bigger (presumed male) likes to sleep ON TOP of Tootsie's hide! Doesn't really bother Tootsie. ....and this Tootsie waking up to a breakfast of Curly Kale!

5 year old Star - female?

Hi. I'm thinking of getting another star to add to the pair that I already have. I believe keeping tortoises in pairs isn't a great idea and I'm hoping that adding another one will change the dynamic with bullying etc. I've found a 5- year old star for sale and would really like your opinion on...

We don't particularly enjoy our daily soaks!!

I've finally got the humidity, temperature and food right. If I could only get them to enjoy their daily dip! They look at me accusingly when I put them in the water. If looks could kill.....!

    Tootsie and Charlie

Just thought I'd share photos of my Stars (have been told they are Sri Lankan but not sure). They hatched in Aug 2012 and I've had them since Oct. The photos above are from when they arrived and the ones below are from today. They seem to be eating well and enjoy their twice weekly soaks!

    Overfeeding Indian Stars

Hi, I'm really new to this forum and also to tortoise husbandry as a whole. Fell in love with star tortoises and after a lot of research found a reliable breeder of these gorgeous creatures in the UK and got 2 (presumed male and female). Tootsie and Charlie have been with us for a little over 2...
