    Burrowing

Hi, I have had a hatchling Hermanns for about 2 weeks now. He is eating well, and pooping every day when he soaks. The enclosure temp is 95 and humidity (with a spray of water every few hours) is at around 60. My problem is, he doesn't seem to be too active during the day...he mostly hides...

    Free slider?

After yesterday's sad CL listing, I actually found a nice one..and this one is free too! If you want a slider, with everything included, this one is free, and looks like it comes from a caring owner: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pet/3558294956.html

    multi level

I would like input on my enclosure idea. I was going to take a grey colored 55 gallon plastic container (from what I read, see-through is not good for Tortoises) and have the tortoise "house" on the bottom part, where it will be nice and dark, and on the top level, I'd have the basking spot...

    [split] Substrate.

What would be the best substrate for an indoor enclosure? I'd need something that I can change easily, and that doesn't smell.
