    CL ad for a Russian

That was my thought. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to care for him long term, I could set up something temporary for a few weeks though.

    CL ad for a Russian

Hi! I was wondering if this tortoise looks a little off. I know their care isn't great, but I don't think it was too bad considering it came from PetCo. Here is the ad with a picture. http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/pet/3953235263.html I have emailed about it and will attach the email...

    Wild caught tortoises

I agree completely with Yvonne. I don't like the idea of taking tortoises out of the wild when there are plenty of breeders, but sometimes you can only find one in a Pet Store and they are almost always wild caught.

    Russian on its back

The substrate is firm enough for her to be able to turn herself back over and she is doing just fine.

    Russian on its back

Thanks! She is only about 7 months old. I have found her in odd places before, but never on her back, so I was really worried. I can't wait to get home and check on her.

    Russian on its back

No she wasn't, otherwise I would have run her to the Vet immediately.

    Russian on its back

Hi! I have a question about an issue I've never faced before. I'm not sure how, but my little one was on her back when I got home from work yesterday. I flipped her back over and she immediately went into her hide and slept. I'm not sure if there is anything wrong, are there any subtle signs...

    Tortoise lifespan

A friend of mine claimed his Russian was around 125 when it died, not sure about that, but it is within reason.

    Care of Egytian torts

I'd say the smallest enclosure that is okay for a tortoise is 120cm x 60cm (4ft x 2ft). Honestly I would say that is only okay for a baby, but others say that is okay for an adult.

    Sulcata tortoise

I was going to PM or email you the picture, nut it isn't letting me do that either. :(

    Sulcata tortoise

Here is a sulcata tortoise in Jefferson City, and they are asking WAY too much for it, but something looks wrong with it and it isn't just the pyramiding. http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/pet/3893740114.html [hr] Here is a picture. Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch using TortForum mobile app...

    Care of Egytian torts

I know little about Egyptian tortoises, but that is far too small for any tortoise, even a baby in my opinion. Try and get something bigger if you can.

I think i have the pickiest eater ever

Just an FYI, vegetables should only be fed on an occasion, and you really should not feed Russians fruit at all, there is too much sugar in fruits and that can cause parasite blooms.

    My guess is female.

Sometimes it is hard to like humans

I figured this was the case. I have known several people who were golfers and they seemed like nice people, but my one experience kinda ruined it for me, not that I am any good any way. :) LOL

Turtle guardian murdered in Costa Rica

This type of story actually makes me want to volunteer. Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to be able to do so. :( I feel bad for the family and I hope they catch the monsters that did this.

Sometimes it is hard to like humans

I went golfing once, and the people I was with, people I didn't know well, were trying to hit the birds, squirrels and rabbits they saw. After a few of their attempts I walked away and talked to the manager about it. He apparently warned them to stop doing that, but I had already left.
