Well, we had been told that Myrtle was a girl, but apparently we were told incorrectly. I got 'flashed' tonight after soaking.

How much to feed baby sulcata

This thread really helped me with food question too. There are several things, like the lettuces, that I wasn't sure on. I have a great store across the street from where I work that has a large organic section, so I am lucky there. Thanks for the questions, and all the helpful info.

Almost adopted a Sulcata but left disappointed...

You are soooo right. I work, as a groomer, at a pet store. We sell birds and, yes, we have a Sulcata for sale as well. I have an African Grey, two Quaker Parrots, and a Parakeet, as well as our adopted Sulcata, Myrtle. I am open, up-front, and honest with anyone interested in these animals about...

    Relieved

After we first got Myrtle home, she would poop piles of pellets, then had some diarrhea, then nothing now for a week. She has been peeing regularly, after about 4 days of chalky urates at first. She finally pooped today! A lot. "Turds" this time. Sorry for all the details, but just trying to get...

    Meet Tom's Sulcatas

Love the pics! My fiance thinks the babies in the tubs look like ladybugs. :) He thought they were adorable. He's still ambivalent toward Myrtle, but I think the baby pics helped bring him around some.

Here is Myrtle. Not sure how old she is. Guessing 3? She's 12 inches and around 15-20 pounds. We've only had her about two weeks.

    Bedtime

Well, Myrtle's old enough that I am only soaking her once a day. I do it in the bathtub right now because I don't have anywhere else, so sunlight doesn't matter. And the time is the best one I cam work into my schedule.

    Bedtime

Sleepy girl...after a full day of sun, grass, and tub time. Her den is a dog crate with a sheet over it and fleece coat in there. Heating pad underneath. It was the best we could do under the circumstances. And we can lock the crate at night so there's no possibility of dogs/cat getting in...

    Terra is crazy.

My poodle is the same way. He runs away terrified every time Myrtle is within ten feet of him.

    Bedtime

Myrtle is so funny. I usually soak her around 7:30 PM. When she goes back to her room she goes to her den and puts herself to bed. It makes me laugh.
