So I posted a couple months ago and tried to get some opinions on the sex of my youngest tortoise. I got (her) in March '10 and she was just barely a month old. So i estimate she will be turning 3 obviously around March '13. The other day I walked past all the torts and the baby was crawling on...
She (?) is about 3yrs old. Pictures are hard to get with her light color. I dont get on very much but I will try to respond with more pix as needed. Thanks for your help.
p.s.
one for fun... Daisy is so beautiful! Let me know if the photos dont work
I dont have a vet because i have never needed one. But I need to take a fecal sample in for my large Leopard and I was wondering if anyone has a SPECIFIC vet they recommend. I know about the Vet list here on the forum but I would like to hear that this vet has seen a Leo or Sulcata in the last 3...
I've asked this before and at the time I wasn't really satisfied with the response I recieved, so I've waited and Im gonna try again.
I have an adult leopard tort. Her previous owner had her for seven years and kept her on a hard wood floor. Because of the flooring, she basically swam around...
4/28/2010 About a month after i received her
9/24/2010 Today
She was born roughly 6 months ago. She has quite a bit of marbling for her age. I have noticed some pyrimiding, i do try to keep her humidity relatively high without risking respatory problems. And she gets calcium everyday.
I haven't been on here in awhile so for those of you who dont know me, i own an approx. 20 year old female Leopard who i adopted this time last year. I've had quite the odd experience with her, so she gets alot of special treatment. She does live indoors, but has the option to be outside anytime...
So I never did this with my Sulcata and I regret it because I dont have a whole lot of pictures that really capture his growth. So I am doing this with my Leopard Daisy, especially since her growth is so noticable.
This is the day we got her, 3/30/10...approx. 1 month old, 2in. 40gr...
Marlin (sulcata) and Bumper (large leopard) get out on the balcony regularly when I'm too busy to get them in the yard. But this is Daisy's first time. Took a little pic for size comparison then she got put in her tub, away from the large stomping feet of the other two.
Figure a...
I know its not necesary to feed mushrooms to a Sulcata but can I if I wanted? I looked up the nutrition facts and there is a little protein but other then that it looks ok. So if I wanted to let him taste a small peice would it be determental? Also where is the list of good leaves and grasses...
So I have had Bumber for about 7 months now(she is an adult Leo though) and she does some pretty strange things. She has a horrible problem eating because of her beak. I hear her clicking it all the time. I have started trimming it little by little but she gets her mouth stuck open and cant...
So i'm in Missouri right now visiting my cousin and she tells me that the place that she takes her dogs for puppy daycare has this gigantic tortoise and she wanted me to see it. After a few questions I knew it had to be a sulcata and I started getting excited. So when we got there they said he...
So for some dumb reason I planted pumpkins (the baby kind) in my Leopards enclosure without checking if everything is edible. Dont ask me why but I thought it would be kinda funny growing pumpkins indoor, and her enclosure was perfect.... but can she eat the leaves?
I figured since I posted in the leopard specific, I should post here to just in case any one else wanted to see.
Got her on Tuesday, haven't found a name for her yet. Cutest friggin thing ever though
So about two weeks ago I contacted this seller about buying one of his baby leopards. He was probably the most unprofessional procrastinating business person I have ever come in contact with. He rescheduled shipping multiple times and then apparently shipped yesterday and never told me he was...
I started feeding my one year old Sulcata Mazuri everyday. Since I started, in the begining of this month, he has not had his regular poo. Normally I would say it was a little soft but he had no problems. Now they look (his poo) completely solid and he looks like he has a bit of trouble. I still...
I was looking at a couple pictures on y a h o o and also looking at my leopard tort (who has severe pyramiding, shes a rescue) and wondering why the worst of it causes the top scutes to pyramid but not the side scutes? If this doesnt make sense I'll try to clarify but does anyone know when a...
I got Bumper in September of last year. She had a few issues with diet and she has a bad case of MBD. The last 7 years she grew up on a hard wood floor or the newspaper covered floor of her cage. Before that is unknown. I'm guessing she is around 20 years old. A couple months ago I was giving...
