Well, I got this beautiful species sometimes ago. He's quite active and healthy so far, and with big appetites. He is 6 cm SCL now and I keep him in 5 cm water level.
I'm wondering if someone has experience with this species and know the proper water level they can be kept in. I tried put him...
Here are some nice pictures by a friend of mine, tortoise and turtle breeders from Indonesia.
This was an old picture, but still nice to share of my friend's son herding some emys.
And below is latest picture he shared this morning of his son being chased by some tanks :p
It's been one of my target to setup a community tank for turtles.
After preparing the tank for several weeks, finally I got my first species for the tank today, Graptemys nigrinoda.
Unboxing ceremony :)
Home sweet home
Exploring new tank. They are indeed excellent swimmers and love...

Oh well, I have a deal for below turtle.
Just wondering, if I can mix with other kind of musk turtles and whether anyone can share his experience taking care of this species, or if there is any specific care sheet for it.
I really love how it looks and looking forward for any input from...
Here is Orion Pax, the only babcocki left from the two I have from last year. The other died after suffering from parasites like illness early this year.
I was wondering whether he is a runt as he doesn't really grow for quite some time. So it surprised me when I finally saw some growth...
Please check the emys pattern below.
Please share your opinion whether this is real or human made? Or whether anyone has ever seen or met similar one.

Hi everyone.
Please help me to ID this plant. It's the plant in front of the other one.
The back one is sow thistle, but I can't ID the plant with tiny yellow flowers.
I basically give up trying to find weed seeds in my country, as I can only find plantain under sale here as herbaceous plant.
Is there anyone who is willing to send seeds to my country (Indonesia). I need basically the seed mix for grazing tortoise like sulcata and the broadleaf mix (all kind...
I found a thread where JD is posting about Catharanthus roseus being native plant in Madagascar.
My question, is there any part of this plant parts edible by torts?
Thank you.
I believe I get some hard mineral build up on my tortoise's shells due to practice of a lot of water spraying per day. For information, my tap water contains pretty hard water at more than 200 ppm.
Is there any safe way to remove it from the shell? I would like to use weak acetic acid...
This is the thing I see on captive care tortoise like sulcata and yniphora.
All the new growths become much darker colors compare to the ones from the wild. I think the dark color is because too fast growth compares to the ones from the natural habitat and the ones with similar growth to the...

At last, I have local tortoise from my own country, Indotestudo Forstenii.
He is 6 cm SCL and he arrived 4 hours ago. He looks healthy despite his 24 hours air shipment. I immediately soaked him for 30 minutes and put him in his enclosure.
I might get like 3-4 more and start their own...
