RE: Identify.... It is probably what the former owner fed her. If it was processed(like the colored turtle sticks) food or something like yellow sqaush I've had yellow and red poop from these foods being fed exclusively. What are you planing on feeding her?

RE: Identify.... Could be urates, or a combination of things. What are you feeding her? How long have you had her? Does she have a good appetite? What type of substrate? Temps? And anything else you think of that might help.

Yes lower the che and cover the top, at least partially, with a more solid material. Probably cover the top first and see if that makes any difference before lowering the che. Try to get hottest up in the 90's. Also as always warm soaks work wonders. Hope she gets better.

In some States box turtles are protected. But in the meantime you should take care of it. Research I've done is that box turtles cannot be released any where but where they grew up. Supposedly they will continually travel and are more likely to get killed. I don't know if that is true or not...
