So for this summer I was thinking of buying a kiddy pool for the outdoor enclosure of my Russian tortoise instead of making one out of wood. Is there anything I should know about doing this or is it not a good idea? I just don't want to spend a bunch of money if I don't have to.

So I checked the temps basking spot 95 degrees and cool side 70 degrees pretty normal temps.

First off do RT hibernate in winter? He's been lazy, not eating as much. I put his food on a little plate and lately when I come home from school I find it flip or and the food is dumbed. I'm confused with this action.

Does any one who has a Russian tortoise ever look at other tortoise's shell and think " Wow I wish my tortoise's shell was like that!" not trying to be mean to Russian tortoises but their shell is a little plane compared to others. just want to know if it's just me.

Ok so more interesting. next summer making an outdoor house, so double decker will have to wait a while. I will Prevent boredom!!!!!!!! :)

Are u really sure I have to do this? I just made the 3 by 3 1/2. Will he be find for just this winter? Or is it something done now? You see I'm 13 I have to save up money then have help making it. Is it life or death for him?

How big is each lvl in the two lvl house? Could I just a second lvl to my 3 by 3 1/2? If so how?

Um well my Russian has a 3 by 3 1/2 ft house indoor and when it gets cold won't he get bored and just sleep and do nothing all winter long. Just seems Boreding :/ is there any thing I can do? If not oh well. I just thought he'd be bored.

Well he's being picky. I give him kale, collard greens, and a small amount of squash and broccoli. All he's eating is the squash and broccoli. And it's a small amount so I'd think he'd be hunger, but doesn't eat the greens. What can I do to stop his pickiness?

YES!!!!!! Legs out!! Ok little to late for a half hour soak. So as soon I get u, he's goes in. Hope this works. Making a 3 by 31/2 indoor enclosure instead to fix the over heating problem. So the outdoor enclosure will have till next summer. :)

So I've change the enclosure outdoors up to the end of the week. Can not get it done before then. So what should I do in the mean time? How to cool his cage off? Anther day as has pasted and he's still not eating. I'm super worried now. :(

I offer him mustard greens and turnip greens. I check on normal once a day, with this noneating thing more like two to three. I only move him when it's soaking time or to go outside which is normal.

So, it's like his second day not eating. He won't drink or soak. All he does is sleep/hide. Temp. same as been since I got him(basking side 90-95 degrees, cool side 80-85) He's in 20 or 25 gallon tank (small I know but making an outside house next summer.) So I think he's bored, but then again...
