PICS OF PEELING SHELL

My sulcata is 2 yeras old. This is something new that started about 2 months ago. It's completely dry, there is no pus. If there was pus, I would of known to take him to the vet. But I will be really upset if I take him and they tell me it just a growth ring. Thanks for the advise.

    urates

I finally figured out why my pics were not attaching. Remember to hit the "add attachment" button on the far right . I kept missing that. You also have to reduce your pics. If thay are to big they will not attach. Hope that helps

    PICS OF PEELING SHELL

I posted a thread a few days ago and got a few replies. Here is a couple of pics. The growth ring is about an inch tall and softer than his shell and is not occurring on the other side. Also look close at the bottom part of the shell. It looks like it spreading...

    Peeling shell

Hi, my sulcata must be going through a growth spurt. He has what I think are growth rings. I can see new shell underneath. But his shell above this area looks like its peeling off. My other tortoise (a desert tortoise) never did this with his shell. Is this the way sulcata shells grow? Is...

    Tortoise shell looks unusual????

I hope so! Is it normal to happen on only one side of the shell and not the other? It doesn't smell or feel moist, but it does feel soft.

    Tortoise shell looks unusual????

Hello, I adopted a sulcata about a year ago. She has mild pyramiding, but otherwise in great health. She is a grazer in my yard and I just recently noticed the side of her shell doesn't look right. It looks as if it's seperating at the seams. I tried doing some research on my own and...

    Shipping Large Sulcata

Just to give you an idea on shipping- we ship bearded dragons Priority Fed Ex overnight all over the US. A 1 lb box is $40, a 2 lb box is $50. You might be looking at $2-300. My brother just had a pure bred great dane shipped from Michegan to California and it cost him $500 to ship...

    WATERY EYES

I did a little research since I posted this. It was the arid temps in her cage. I added some top soil and wet it down and within hours her eyes dried up. So it wasn't humid enough. Thanks

    WATERY EYES

Hi friends, my 2 year old sully was just moved indoors due to the rainy weather and I noticed last night her eyes are watery. There is no discharge or anything, just clear wetness around her eyes, like she has been crying :( Her diet is the same. The only thing that has changed is her...

    Do I have any recourse????

The only reason this is all making me so "frustrated" is because I don't entirely believe in the whole philosohy of keeping all species seperate. We have raised tons of different species of reptiles over 17 years and have kept different species together that share the same habitats and have...

    Do I have any recourse????

Hi tortoise forum friends, I'm in a real pickle here and I need all the advise I can get-free from anger, judgement, and sarcasm, please. Here is my story in a nutshell: I have owned 2 desert tortoises for 13 years that I always had a hunch were male and female because one would always mount...

    Now What?????

Yeah, you know what-I must have had a temporary brain gliche. I'm not finding a home for my sully. I love him/her too much. I'll figure out something else. I read the posts on here about the damage they do, how big they get, crushing other torts, having very specific winter housing...

    Now What?????

OK, so I'll be honest here. I've read all the posts about mixing species and now I have a problem. I own a desert tortoise and now, a sulcata. I keep them both in my yard together. My desert is full grown and my sully is only 3 yo. I got the sully because a zoo near my house has sullys and...
