Hello,
I know this really only affects UK keepers, but can I ask all of you good people to lend your support to this petition please?
Micro chipping a 10cm tortoise is bad enough, but the law was changed requiring chipping at 6cm which is crazy.
Let's see if we can get it changed back...
I don't know an exact age, just that the lady who originally posted him up grew up with it always in the family, so 30+, but he does appear to still be growing, and is no longer hibernated.

I fed wild lettuce and prickly lettuce to my tortoises for a couple of years, after they grew out of a specific tortoise seed mix, but stopped after finding it listed on the tortoise table website as a toxic no feed.

I think you were lucky to find him safe to be honest.
I'm always very wary of mixing tortoises with a considerable size difference, especially considering the damage juveniles can do to smaller siblings, let alone adults.

Scroll down to the post by Berkeley, Pancakes and their outdoor enclosure.
You won't find better looking outdoor Pancake enclosures than those, and the tortoises are pretty stunning too!

Zoey,
A friend of mine has had an adult 1.3 group of Pancakes for about 18 months, and has had eggs from all three females, and so far hatched 1 baby in 2014, and 7 more so far this year, also at the same temps I use, same 80% humidity, no diapause, with no sign of split or extra scutes so far...
I've been hatching Marginata's since 2007, Horsfieldi's since 2013, and Eastern Hermann's since 2014, incubating every time at 89.6, using as many as 3 different incubators.
Every tortoise old enough to be sexed so far has been female.
Regarding deformities/split scutes, I've had one tiny...
I've posted this on a couple of facebook groups, but wanted to share it here too.
This is the largest spur thighed tortoise I've ever seen, has anyone seen larger?
It appears to be a Turkish Ibera.

Great thread, and photo's!
I'm in the UK, but still have never attended Hamm, it's something I want to do at least once.
I've always been wary of trying to take any photos at the UK shows, as people always assume you're some animals rights nut, trying to compile some type of evidence.

Wonderful creatures!
I'm sure if any of us where in your part of the world, we'd all be forming a line, offering to babysit those little jewels for you
Thanks again for sharing the photos, I could look at them all day long!
John
These photos, and your success with these is fantastic, and a joy to see.
Thanks again for sharing this, and allowing those of us who will never have the chance of owning this species, an inside look.
Magnificent looking tortoises from their very first day!
John
I keep Marginata's in the UK, and have been breeding them since 2007, from adults I raised from hatchlings and juveniles.
They are a very underrated species.

Hermanni Chris, is 10 inches normal for a Morrocan?, I always thought they were a much smaller subspecies, And would have put money on this being an Algerian Whitei's Graeca.
