    Max Updates

It's been a while so I thought I'd give an update on Max. In January 2012 I was very excited to get my first reptile, a little leopard tortoise I named Max. Fast forward a little over three years and we have Max who... is no longer little and whom I'm pretty sure is a girl. :P She's about...

    Bum Shaking

Hey all, I just found out my tortoise will shake their bum whenever I tickle/lightly scratch their shell. Any idea why?

    Max Updates

Hello All! In January 2012 I bought my first reptile, a leopard tortoise, from a pet store. Just wanted to give some updated pictures as to how (s)he is doing! Length (measuring just Max's shell): ~7.5 inches. Weight: 1,106 g or 1.106 kg.

Am I doing this right? (Loooooooooong post)

Hi all, My name is Meg and I live in Edmonton, Canada. In December, when we went to go pick up our dogs from a grooming appointment, I noticed that the pet store had a leopard tortoise for sale. He was absolutely adorable! But I didn't want to be the kind of person who bought a pet...

    Pleased to Meet You :)

Hello, I'm Meagan and I live in the northern city of Edmonton, Canada. I'm new to both the forum and tortoise raising, so thank you for your patience! This is Max. (His full name- at my brother's insistence Max was too simplistic for a leopard tortoise- is Maxwell Huntington the First...
