This article isn't super informative, but it looks like they were desert torts, sulcatas, and russians, along with one red eared slider. http://www.mydesert.com/article/20120729/NEWS01/120729001/14-desert-tortoises-stolen-from-Moorten-Botanical-Gardens-Palm-Springs?odyssey=mod_sectionstories
I love hearing about what everyone does! Personally, I build flight simulators. I absolutely love it, we build large jet simulators as well as smaller Cessna 172 and cirrus sr20 simulators. I work long hours (longest stretch was 46 hours straight, 210 hours in 11 days) but I wouldnt trade it for...
I collect unique/limited edition whiskey and beer bottles, as well as shot glasses. All of my friends get me shot glasses when they travel and I travel quite a bit for work, so I'd venture to say I have around 120 shot glasses in total. My girlfriend collects magnets, which cover the entire...
The easiest way would be a box cutter and a metal straight edge. Use the straight edge to guide your blade, and don't try to cut the through in one pass, make multiple passes with lighter pressure, then you'll have less chance of slipping and it will just be easier all together.
My girlfriend rides horses, and as you can imagine, the flies are terrible. But she sprays an equestrian fly spray on her horse everytime she takes him out and the flies disappear from the horse. I have no idea of how it would do with torts, or how long it really lasts, but you may want to check...
Hi heather! I'm from Colorado as well! I live in edge water with my girlfriend, who went to CU for her undergrad. We love going back up to boulder, specifically to half fast subs, what a spectacular place that is! Welcome to the forum!
I feel like if you had warning signs posted and someone hurt themselves, that would take away the liability from you. I have a few teachers that are lawyers, and I'd like to ask them about this. Where are you located?
Also, if you need signs and can't find any readily available, I can make you...
I don't know anything about Greek tortoises, but I do know that the aspen bedding you have your tort on can be dangerous, causing impaction because they eat it but can't pass it. There was a case a while ago with a member who had Aldabra's that ate the bedding and became quite sick.
It's super easy to post pics from the iPhone. First you need to get the tortoise forum app, the. When you reply to a thread, there will be a + sign in a box in the upper right hand corner next to send, hit that and it will bring up options like attach picture, video, and a couple other things...
You cannot paint after the fact, and would essentially render your clear coat useless if you painted after. Paint first, then spray your clear over it, it's just like spray paint. The first coat might come out slightly rough, but you can sand it with 400 grit sandpaper to get the roughness out.
My rf does that all the time! I posted a picture a little while ago of him actually, I think it's hilarious, and as far as I know it's a normal thing to do.
I have a ceramic heat emitter to keep heat up in the enclosure, I also have coco coir as a substrate with sphagnum moss scattered about that I spray in the morning and night. The moss and coir hold moisture very well, and help me keep the humidity at acceptable levels. Is your enclosure...
I used to go to scales n tails all the time when I had my savannah monitor actually, and two of the (in my opinion) most knowledgeable guys, Andrew and Clint actually had a little falling out with the owner, and started reptilian paradise. Scales n tails stores are definitely great, and they do...
Home depot makes a "bucket head" vac that attaches to a 5 gallon bucket, it costs $15 and is really nice for the price. It gets a little clogged but you just have to go slower than a normal shop vac
