Not really posted much recently, so here is a fun afternoon we had in the sunshine!
Tortoises
And dog
Misha came for a cuddle
Then ran off with Amber!
Teabag had never been in the garden before:
They all had lots of fun!
Misha was spying on neighbours
When they started...
I have noticed some red marks on my little hatchling Teabag.
First was one on her neck that was believed to be caused by her shell...
But today I noticed one on her leg that can't be from her shell, there is also a red mark on the shell next to it (I hope you can see it but she just...
hmm think I just got flashed my Misha!
Thankfully I keep a camera handy... what do you think?
It went away again ok...
[hr]
oops I meant to type "A Flashing?"[hr]
my nearly 11 year old Jack Russell, Buzz, just had a full on fit!
She has had a twitch since she ate slug pellets when she was one, but this is the first proper fit!
It only lasted a couple of minutes and she seems to be recovering well, she is still a little confused and disoriented, but...
Some pics from having the tortoises out during last weeks sunshine!
Amber's first trip out:
She was very interested in my shoes!
Hiding
Misha liked my bright towel!
And using me as a climbing frame!
Misha likes my shoes too...
Amber was also...
Well after a few days out in the garden (getting alone fine) I have put them back together under close supervision (after some fighting a while back)
They seem to be getting on fine now!
as proof here is a couple of pic and a video of Amber climbing on Misha (Misha did not seem to like...
ok so I gave my tortoises a cuttlefish each on Saturday (they are in separate tables) and they both seem to quite like it...
However one has gone properly nuts about it, has eaten about half of it (and its only Thursday) and did have a bit of visible beak before nut none now...
the question...
This is why I think Misha is a boy:
was carrying both of them upstairs on my chest (supported bu a hand each) ans Amber sat still but Misha was obsessed with getting into my top!!
Ok, so I have been working on a plan for 2 new tortoise tables (bunkbed style so one on top of the other) and would like to see what you think...
my drawing is rather bad and in no way to scale but I have written on the dimensions, Have also shown where lighting should go (of tried to anyway)...
ok, so one of my tortoises has been biting the other, not that frequent, and generally not that bad, mostly getting shell.
But to day the littler one had a small cut on her head (am guessing a bite).
will I definatly need to separate them or is there hope of this getting better?
Hi concerned about my 10+ year old Jack Russell Buzz, she has been a little out of sorts the last couple of days (there is nothing particularly unusual about that) but she has been lying with her head over the edge of the sofa for a while now and noticed a puddle of "drool" on the floor under...
Well clearly I underestimated just how well Horsefield's climb!!
and don't worry I have (hopefully) made it so she can't do it again - and seems to be working so far!
So, since getting my new Horsefied a few days ago have been hunting around for ways of monitoring its growth, weight etc. and stumbled across a thread in another forum http://www.tortoise-protection-group...30.asp?tID=667
which gave a formula from someone in the stated is basically...
