My Greek tortoise bangs against the guy's terrarium.

I assume I would grab this from a home improvement store, is there any I should avoid? Any recommendations?

My Greek tortoise bangs against the guy's terrarium.

Although he does dig, that is not what he was doing last night. It seems like once a month he does that so it's not too big of a deal. My terrarium is quite big for him right now, the terrarium is about 50 times bigger than him. I know in the future I will have to get a bigger one but right...

My Greek tortoise bangs against the guy's terrarium.

I had placed him like that only for a good picture to sex him with. He's a tough little guy anyways, he didn't mind it for only a second.

My Greek tortoise bangs against the guy's terrarium.

My Tortoise Brain Gorger bangs against the guy's terrarium. I wish that (s)he wouldn't. I placed pieces of paper to deter the little guy but (s)he doesn't care, still does it. Also would like to sex the guy. Here are some pictures: My tortoise 1 year ago. Just for those who...

Vacation, what do you do with your torts?

My Tortoise Brain Gorger is a little pain when I go somewhere. We'll be gone for a day and I figure that in the wild Torts can't eat every day because of the sometimes lack of food so I figured it was okay but I'd like to get a second opinion. I was wondering. I have two options: 1. Take him to...

    hey! is this ok?

http://www.theturtlesource.com/turtle_inventory.asp?cat=333&id=100200393 Very interesting turtles. My favorite are the albino just because they're not actually suffering from any deformity that endangers their life (except for lack of camouflage in the wild.)

Is it okay for my tortoise to play with hamsters?

That doesn't sound too good Megs. I'll take your advice. I've seen a little bit of pictures of people's tortoise's along with other animals such as cats, just was wondering.

    Question about Hiberantion and Sex/Species

As of now s/he is quite hard to take pictures of because of his/her need to explore everything and twiddle around. The size is also a problem. Anyways I've been feeding Brain Gorger twice a day with plenty of food, removing it about three-four hours. Thanks for all the help.

    Question about Hiberantion and Sex/Species

Makes sense. Sounds good, two tortoises is quite a lot of space for me anyways. Thanks! I did a tiny bit of research and it seems that my tortoise looks like a female. Again I could be wrong since I'm not much of an expert but I only have 50% chance of being wrong.

Is it okay for my tortoise to play with hamsters?

Once my tortoise grows to adult size, is it okay for him to play with little hamsters. Of course they won't be caged together, and will only spend one hour at most a week supervised. Anyone else let your tortoises play with other pets?

    Question about Hiberantion and Sex/Species

Thanks for the comments, do you suggest I post pictures later, when s/he is more grown up, for a better identification? Or better detailed pictures? I really just want to know if Brainy is female or male. I've read that guinea pigs aren't as happy when they're alone (they have no other Guinea...

Ideal enclosure size for an adult Greek Tortoise?

I'm thinking of building an enclosure for my baby Greek Tortoise for when he grows to an adult. Right now hes in a tiny 20" x 10.5" terrarium but he's also tiny. I don't have much room as of now. The biggest spot I have in my room is 32" x 15.25". Is this big enough or am I going to find a...

    Question about Hiberantion and Sex/Species

Hello. I have one Greek tortoise about one month old. I was wondering if you HAVE to hibernate your tortoise? I did a quick search for a thread with the FAQs but no luck. And I noticed a little nick in his beak, it looks almost as if s/he has a cut, I can't tell if it is food or a piece...
