    Zoomed Calcium Blocks?

Has anyone tried these Zoomed Calcium bricks? They have opuntia cactus mixed into them. I'm assuming they're supposed to act like a cuttlefish bone in the enclosure. Has anyone tried them? Thoughts? Opinions?

    Please help! Sick sulcata.

So my sulcata hatchling, Tokka that I have had for a few months now, suddenly started becoming very inactive about 2 weeks ago. Then I noticed its shell starting to soften (top and bottom). Then it's eyes start to swell shut. It is no longer even attempting to eat. It doesn't move from wherever...

    Leaf litter

So I want to follow some advice I've gotten on here and give some leaf litter to my Burmese. I am concerned however about not knowing plants/foliage well enough. Are there leaves out there that could be poisonous? Do they attempt to eat the leaves at all? Should any pile of leaves outside...

    Burmese Temps

I see so many varying numbers for advised temps for a Burmese black, so I decided to get my own thread going. What do you all think I should keep my temps at? My Burmese is an estimated 1 year old. Right now I'm sitting at about 90 on the hot side, 75 on the cool side. My nighttime temp drops to...

    Revised Tortoise Table!

Zoidberg (our Burmese) seems MUCH happier already. And the other 3 seem much happier too, which is great. Got some pics here spanning the entire...

    Sand in sulcata hatchling substrate?

I've read several times not to use any sand as substrate for my sulcata hatchlings, but now I'm reading that I should use like 50/50 soil to sand ratio combo as a substrate for them. Can anyone weigh in on this please. I have 2 Sulcatas. 1 is about 3inches and the other is only about 2.5 inches...

    Algerian Greek?

Anyone ever hear of an Algerian Greek tortoise? The vivarium we got it from described it and had it labeled as such, but I'm having a difficult time finding information specific to this subspecies. If it is even a Greek at all. Any insight or info on this would be much appreciated.

    Hello Everybody

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site, and recently became an owner of a few baby tortoises. I've got 2 baby Sulcatas, a baby Greek, and a yearling black Burmese. I'm working on a little better humidity for the Burmese At the moment, and should have him a little happier by tomorrow. The Sulcatas and...
