    One day incubation hatchling!

I was digging up some redfoot eggs one of my females layed yesterday and it appears one of them hatched! Lol Ok, I guess it was just pure luck that she layed this clutch on top of one already incubating in the ground :) Pretty cool regardless!!

My " male" radiated tortoise that has been a male for many years decided to nest about a week ago. "It" dug for about 3 hours...

First Annual My Pic Was Too Small Calendar

OK, Maybe no calendar.lol Needless to say, I was disappointed when I got a lesson today in megapixels. I personally think that if you submitted your pic on time, even though it was too small you should be able to send another one. Rather than gripe and moan , maybe we can make lemonade...

    "Scud" Before and After

Someone posted a pic today of a Redfoot and was concerned about white spots on the shell. I explained that it was called(Scud) and it is easily treated with antifungal cream(athletes foot cream, jock itch cream). It is believed to be caused from the soil and is not life threatening. Attached is...

    The Tortoise and the Hare

So, I was on the phone with my girlfriend the other day and she said" I just think I saw a rabbit run into the shed". Well, seeing we are in S Florida I asked her if she was sure it wasn't a big rat. lol Sure enough, when I got home I peeked in the shed and come to find out, it was a cute...

This is my second year producing these absolutely beautiful and rare tortoises, so needless to say, I am ecstatic. I raised my adults from tiny hatchlings, so it makes it that much more rewarding. I have worked with many species of tortoises and produced hundreds of babies in years past,but...
