The babies have finally started hatching (3 are out now, 2 left - out of the 9 or so, most seems to have been empty, they became brown, or I might have messed up somewhere during incubation?), they are cute as can be! However, now I have a problem, there are no resources on how to take care of...
I hear you and thank you very much for your help! I don't mind the fines or fees for the permit, keeping my lizards and tort are my main concern, letting go of them would hurt a lot, is it worth the risk to get the permit, or should I instead keep my head low? Because as you say it can be risky...
I want to get a permit for my pets, however my greatest fear is that they take them away from me (after owning them for almost years, I have grown very attached) or they deny me the permit... Is this fear rational or am I over reacting? Anyone here with good or bad stories trying to get permits...
It's been a while, but it seems that the eggs are really starting to shine! They are bigger, white, and you can see babies when you flash a light under them! I will be seeing about the diapause you speak of once some time has passed and see what happens!
WOW! that is absolutely stunning!
Bark might be a good idea, something big enough that they can't swallow, I was actually also thinking maybe decorating the enclosure with flat rocks, but that might bring the humidity up :')
She is actually laying the eggs as we speak! When we first got her she had a few infertile eggs (that's...
Thanks for the tip! I'll look into getting them a few hiding holes, I have noticed that they liked squeezing between small spaces
By regular earth, do you mean like rocks and sand? If so I hear (at least with bearded dragon) that sand-like substrate is not good for them, so I generally stay...
It has been a while hey? Last post was in March! Well, I think it's time I gave a status update on my lizard! So she seems to be happy and healthy now! Shes very calm while being handled (thanks to daily handling no doubt!), very active during the day and eats very well, so far she's doing...
Hello! So as a lot of you probably know, I live in South Africa, and I want to move to a different country, I did read a thread saying it is difficult (https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/moving-to-another-country-with-your-tortoise.185947/) and better to just get a new tortoise, but I would like...
There are so many different opinions online of what UVB to get, it's rather overwhelming... I have a baby padloper tortoise (and a agma atra lizard, think of this as a smaller version of a bearded dragon if you don't know about it), what would be the best UVB to get them?
I am now moving off of...
Finally, after weeks of postponing it, we finally built it... The people who cut the glass got some of the measurements a little wrong, but it did not really affect the end result too much...
We haven't yet installed the heat lamp and the UVB bulb, my dad will be building another contraption...
I hear you, thank you for your speedy reply
That sounds way to scary and way too out of my league, I was hoping it would be similar to snakes, I think 100% you're right, I shall not attempt to force feed him, thank you for notifying me :)
How hot do you think I should make it then? 38 degrees...
So, some of you may know that I recently got a new lizard, and that it has been eating really (2-4 dubias a day, 4-6 mealworms) well up until recently, where it just stopped eating, barely eating 1 mealworm a day. We did call multiple vets, all of them are full and one still needs to get back to...
I got an Agma Atra (AKA. Bloukop Koggelmander) a few weeks ago, and it was surprisingly easy to get it to eat and calm down, it even started taking the food out of the feeding tongs, but recently it stopped eating, it usually ate about 2 small-medium sized dubia roaches and 4 mealworms/day, but...
Now please note that I do not plan on doing this, but I would like to know if they would respond to it, since I find it funny to think about...
Now let's say my bearded dragon is bobbing their head to show superiority, what if I started bobbing my head, would they respond to it, or would they...
Yes, so far it has eaten dubia roaches, mealworms and crickets, but not any salads, I head that they might not eat salads, so I'm going to try and find more info on it
