I Thought This Was A Sick Joke...

This is one of the worst examples of mbd I've ever seen. I just don't understand how this could possibly happen. I'm never too critical of people, as they though they were doing the right thing, but the shell literally looks like a toy. I want to help, but I don't think it will even survive...

    Wild Box Turtles

Gorgeous eastern box turtles I saw on the trail this morning. Appeared to be an older male dominating a juvenile male. He even flared at me when I got close to take a picture. By the time we returned they were going their separate ways. It's cool having pets, but I love seeing them in the wild.

    New Girls!

"Coco" "TaeTae" and "LeLe" I'm not the best at names but they can keep them 😂. Three females hatched in 2014. They were bursting out the box. The previous owner is an elderly woman looking for a good home. She hatched them out herself. She used to be a russian tortoise breeder until she quit...

Drastic difference between keepers in the US and UK. However, there is a lot you can take from this video.

    Did it Happen...again?

Okay. I have three confirmed female Russian torts arriving next week after a kind lady reached out.Adult, egg-laying females. Awesome, right? After sharing images of my set ups and care. Someone else reached out to me with a confirmed female. Cool! Of course I asked if they were sure, as I'm...

    New Box Turtle Enclosure

I was blessed to grow up on this beautiful property that includes a patch of woods in the back. All me, my siblings and cousins ever did growing up was play hide n seek back here and tight rope over the empty koi pond. It's time I utilized it. For years, the box turtles have lived in front of...

    Who Remembers This Guy?

Made a post about this little hatchling years ago. It. Doesn't have mbd, but was born in a weird shape. Here he is today. Hasn't grown much as his siblings, but is doing well.

    I keep it simple

Some babies I'm raising up. I built them a simple pond. Nothing fancy. Built a box, put in a pond liner, a pvc pipe for overflow, and a basking dock out of empty bottles and a piece of wood with vinyl coated mesh so they can climb on top.

I Dont Think Anyone Will Fall For This Scam

If anyone has the common sense God gave a rat, they shouldn't fall for this. Maybe if enough people say something... FLY RIVER TURTLE.. AKA PIG NOSED TURTLE https://petclassifieds.com/ad/fly-river-turtle-aka-pig-nosed-turtle-2620483/

Send The Ladies My Way...for the tortoises...maybe

Keeping the male Russian torts seperated until I gather the right ratio of females, or until I build more individual enclosures. Except John...John sucks, but I love him. He'd rather fight than eat. I have one docile male I've had for years named Stubs, has always been docile and gets along...

    Cooter Time

The cooters are starting off the season breeding. No babies last year, so hopefully I get lucky. Not the best species for everyone, but if you have a pond I highly recommend them. Personable, cohabitation well with others turtles, even influencing others to eat vegetation. I've told people in...

    Pallet Enclosure!

I sometimes see people on the forum saying they don't have the finances to build large outdoor enclosures. It's pretty simple. Go behind the store of bars, flooring, carpet stores etc, and collect your free lumber. I myself have called ahead in the past. Some companies reuse the pallets, so...

    Meet Senua and Kratos

Two new rescues I got in this morning. Senua, a russian tort named after a video game character that had a disease called, "The Rot", and Kratos...the God slayer. They both have shell rot. It's fairly simple to treat with time. I use a chlorhexidine solution as well as a topical cream like...

    Offered another rescue

Presented as a male.I plan on taking this little one in, but if it's male i'll have to rehome it. Kind of hard to tell, but I believe it is male, any thoughts? Has severe shell rot.

    Another Successful Brumation

Rain, sleet, snow. No additional heating. Just a safe dry place and substrate to burrow. These guys have had yet another successful year of brumation. Took Boris out to do some health assessments. No runny nose or discharge. Still waiting on everyone to pop up. Honestly, I hope everyone takes...

    New Arrival

Meet Stilleto, the new rescue russian tort here. I saw a courtesy post by house.of.pancakes on behalf of Animabilia pet store in New York, and @SinLA post She was surrender by a mother who's son went off to the army. She's in pretty rough shape. Nails curved into her foot pads, not able to...
