I’ve made alot of stupid mistakes when it comes to taking care of my tortoises and i feel guiltily
But Thank you for your kind words, it made me feel much better :)
No, in fact it wasn’t my intention to make them breed. i was going to get the incubator just in case it happenes. Now its too late ,because im sure I won’t find any incubators here and i have to order one and it won’t reach anytime soon. It was mismanagement from my side, i should have never let...
I already considered buying an incubator but now its too late. I was surprised this morning because each time the male try to mate with the female she rejects him and she runs away. Thank you for the advice! I won’t leave them together again and i will just keep the place of the eggs hydrated...
she just layed an egg.
Any advice will be very much appreciated, summer is coming and my country is definitely not for tortoises. Im struggling to keep these two healthy, I don’t know what to do with the eggs
i have another male tortoise, he is very aggressive, so i separated him for her. Occasionally the female try to get to the male so i let her and l leave them alone for a while😂 . Her appetite is great, she finishes her food, she gets daily soaks. Although she is still dehydrated, ever since i...
Hello, i hope everyone is doing great.
Today as i was checking on my tortoises, I found the female digging a pit. My family said she has been digging many pits for a while now, but she doesn’t lay any eggs, she leave them empty.
This is a video for her,, in case the video is not working, I...
Thank you for the feedback! We are keeping a beehive and its still alive, so i hope if it wasn’t strong enough for the bees, it won’t affect my tortoises.
thank you for the feedback! Very much appreciated :”) I hope you’re doing well after Covid :(
I don’t think we have echinacea here. Even if we do I think it will be too late. I asked my mom today apparently my tortoises seems fine and they’re not showing any signs of poisoning yet
Thank you for the feedback Lyn, also thank you for the help in the past! My tortoises got much better and i managed to solve the food problem, but now this happened. I would say it’s my family’s fault. They’re the one who didn’t take the right action from the beginning. The people who were...
Thank you for the feedback!
Currently my tortoises are not in that area. My mom suggested that she would remove the plants but I told her not to because I didn’t want to bother her since the garden is too big
Thank you very much for the feedback. At this point im completely helpless, its 1:07 Am here, and absolutely angry. My family decided to tell me hours after the spraying. Im sure they got exposed to it and probably inhaled large amounts of it. I only hope its not a very dangerous type.
Hello, i hope everyone is doing well
Today my mother told me that the garden where my tortoises are kept was sprayed by an insecticide of some sort. Im shocked and worried sick about my tortoises. I moved out so I can’t keep an eye on my tortoises anymore. My mom said she moved them to a...
Thank you very much for the advice!
I give them big piles of food but they Either trash it or ignore it. They only want lettuce!
nowadays they’re being less Fussy and eat other food.
Exactly like my Greeks.. They're giving me a very hard time.
One thing worked for me is reducing their meals. I used to give them 3-4 meals a day, but I noticed how picky they have become so I reduced their meals to 1-2 a day.
They are still very Fussy but better than before.
Thank you for the extra information!
Yes the plant is from Asiatic dayflower family, bit different from the one in the link but I did a lot of research and I found that it's safe.
I will try not to feed them too much from now on.
Exactly like my Greeks, they are addicted to lettuce, which is bad, and would rather starve themselves than eating anything else. It took me some time until I convinced the Lil brats to eat other food ?
