I always say their smart creatures when they want to be like my testudo uses my window when he can't find the sun to reflect of it but yet he will walk right into the cold areas when its 100 degrees outside ?
then it is fine to take him outside like I take mine out in the 65 degrees but the floor is like 70-80 and they find ways to find sun if just make sure he stays in the sun like for me my house has shaded parts were they like to stay but they get cold
Um depends I left my Russian tortoise overnight in 65-70 degrees But where I live its dry so there was no wind and h was insulated in my dog's toy but he was still cold I mean that's your decision I would because your tortoise is 50lbs but i wouldn't do that often unless warm

I would not have your tortoises out under 70-75 degrees because in texas I left my tortoise out twice before and it was from 65-70 degrees at night but no wind and he was in my dogs toy with insulation and they do get pretty cold you don't want to have them freeze
I mean Russian tortoises do...

You know what you could also do is get a doggy playpen and just move it to where you want it or different spots every week because tortoises are super picky and with that, you can leave him there for a little longer:)
My female Russian tortoise does the exact same thing in her glass terrarium so since I live in Texas its usually hot here so we either let her walk in my house or in my back yard to relieve stress
Now I know you live in Canada soIts hard to take it outside but let it roam in a spot in your...
