Update now, weight increase and decrease but still 40grams now. I try bring to vet, and vet said many gas inside and she gave prescription digestion medicine. I'll post the x-ray picture, anyone understand where is the gas is, because i forgot to ask where the gas is. Anyone have same experience...
One more thing. I try closed Chamber, but how to keep temperature from peaking out when you turn on basking lamp ? Because basking lamp (I try smaller wattage already) but still increase the ambiace temperature too much if turning on for long time. Or how long should we turn on the basking lamp...
So do we need to wait until they poop? Of maximum how many minutes soaking, if not pooping then we need to continue soak, or how ?
Mine sometimes poo before soaking time (early in the morning) and sometime didn't poo when soak
After more investigation , i noticed that the molded coco chip is found at inside the hiding cave, so maybe tortoise sit on mazuri while eating, after that they go to hiding and sleep there. so the mazuri's residue there become molded.
so thanks for the advice, better feed mazuri outside, then...
It happen in certain area. Let me try switch to exoterra Coco Chip. One or two times a week I give them Mazuri , or maybe because of that , some area of Coco Chip become molded?
Hi all, I'm currently using closed Chamber with Coco Chip as substrate, humidity 80%+ and sometime I mist it with water. Just realized some area of the enclosure, coco chip become molded . Is it dangerous? Should I replace all? Or just discard the molded Coco only ?
How to prevent this from...
thanks for the advice, if the little one separated, so there will be 2 radiated at 1 enclosure, and i see Tom everytime said that 2 tortoise at 1 enclosure should be avoided. I add photos already at enclosure as adviced, but i tried to insert my head at the enclosure and the photos smell really...
So nice, what kind of plant si the green one?
In the left is coleus ?
I'll try set up the plant. What the plant needed ? Because I'm soaking everyday 10-15 minutes under sun, I'm not turning uvb lamp on. With plants do I need to turn uvb on ?
Actually 3 months, but yes Mid-April i moved them to closed chamber (after reading plenty information from this forum, and the vital need of humidity for hatchling) maybe they are still in stress. To add plant is hard here because i cant find orchid bark like suggested at forum, and all forest...

It's 3 of them housed together at close chamber but not same age. They middle come from different breeder , left and right from same breeder, but I'm having difficult to confirm whether they are on same clutch or not. If they are born together, there must be something wrong with the smallest one.
How much growth (weight percentage increase), or size increase expected for radiated tortoise ?
When we say they thrive , how much weight gained increase every month ?
I had 2 inch and 3 inch radiated Tortoise, and want to know if they are in a good progress rate or not.
Thanks
@Tom thats my friend aldabra, and some tells that the big growth line due to excessive eating, I still believe with correct diet, no need to limit their food. I also don't want to go extreme to give Mazuri everyday. Thanks for the information
My question is seeing Mark Post point us towards needs of correct humidity to prevent piramiding. How about diet? With closed chamber , correct humidity, can everyday feed Mazuri can lead to pyramiding ?
I also saw some aldabra had very bold growthline, making appearance like not smooth...
im in Indonesia, too bad zoomed repti bark is not available here. all the forest bark here using pine, so our choice only coco coir. Humidity at here usually 60%-75% , your opinion, still need to do closed chamber with substrate ?
majority tortoise keeper here use open top or box with...
with that system, you didnt spot any mold ? we dont have orchid bard like many member in this forum use. suitable substrate we have here only coconut coir. Before when i put water, within some days, coconut coir at the bottom have mold, gray dot . Or something i did wrong so the mold come up ?
