An idea for the reptarium to get the substrate deeper for my Russian/Horsfield.

so I’ve got six bricks of coco coir and I’m changing it this afternoon! Just waiting for a tub to turn up to mix it in. I’ll change it when Timothy is having his bath... genuinely quite excited.

An idea for the reptarium to get the substrate deeper for my Russian/Horsfield.

I've had an idea of how I can get the substrate much deeper for Timothy, I've just ordered a heavy duty pond liner that I can then staple gun into the correct size. This means that even in the reptarium I should be able to achieve a 10cm depth. I'll add a front wooden panel to cover the liner...

My tortoise (horsefield) is a diet terrorist. . . (beginner tortoise owner)

I think it’s so hard because he’s skinny. Very light for his shell length. But, we are getting there and he’s eaten a decent amount of greens today. He’s still not perfect, but the good thing is he’s eaten well! And his activity level has been off the charts! Which makes me happy. He loves the...

A Beginner to Beginner Advice - Plus "Thank You!"

I’ve seen so many posts advising with Russian or Horsfield tortoises - five days a week, this has been on lots of other forums and it seems to be working for Timothy and Me. It’s encouraged him to actually eat weeds and dark leafy greens and he’s not just turning his nose up. I think it depends...

A Beginner to Beginner Advice - Plus "Thank You!"

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the amazing, inspirational tort owners and the helpful information I've received on this site. (Long post - strap in) I spent a long time considering what animal to get as a pet. I live in rented accommodation and a cat or dog would not be...
