    meet the new sudans here.

152g! That isn't monstrous growth, but it is decent! If I lived in a warmer climate, I would have him outside, under my supervision, often, but here in PA we have had sub zero temperatures for the past couple weeks. ? Guess who's gonna definitely need a heated garage/barn in few years... Haha

    meet the new sudans here.

I will admit, Ducky is not perfect, but he is much better than a lot I see, in terms of pyramiding. He gets daily soaks, and he is kept in a very humid greenhouse with the correct lighting and heating. His diet is also varied and healthy. I figure, I'll do what I can do and let perfect...

    meet the new sudans here.

Yes, that is the one! She is very cute, and she looks very healthy! I almost asked Tom for that one (at the time, any of them were available), but I decided on asking for any of them that he deemed ready to go, and I guess it was kind of a random pick, but Ducky eats like a pig, so I am happy!

Are those Sudans from Tom? I got one from him a couple months back, and it is around the same size now... I recall seeing a baby that had the cutest heart shaped scales on top!

    Awesome Little Ducky!

This guy/girl is doing fantastic! I received the tortoise yesterday, and it is from Tom's recent hatch of Sudans. It is set up in a 6 foot by 3 foot greenhouse with all of the neccisary supplies listed in Tom's care sheet for sulcata tortoises. Ducky's in a soak at the moment. Looking forward...

    What is this...

I am from Pennsylvania, and that resembles a black snake shed, but I know that those snakes are not native to your area. I tried to do some research, but I didn't come up with much. I wish I knew what kind it was! Haha

    My little Scooter

I'm so glad that you were able to get her healthy again! Yes, maybe try hand feeding her favorite foods! And spending LOTS of time around her can't hurt either! Best of luck, and welcome to tfo! ?

My tortoise tries to eat my toes!!

My small sulcata always tries to eat my pants if I sit down beside it! ?

    ? slug

I don't know if they are safe to eat, but I know that there sure are a TON of the GIANT leopard slugs in my part of PA! If I were you I would rather be safe than sorry, and just try to avoid letting your tort eat slugs! ?

    Balland's Tortoise Ranch

Has anyone here ever made any purchases from Balland's or know anything about them? I know Richard Fife sold his ivory line to them, so I was curious to see if anyone had any experience with them, as I am considering making a deposit on their August/September hatch of ivories. I have already...

    Baxter

Wowee! That's a lot per month for a tortoise! ? That's almost as much as my cat gains per month! ( JK ) But she seriously is FAT though.

    Baxter

That's some awesome weight gain. Jethro Gibbs weighs around 800 grams He has some pyramiding primarily caused by his previous owner that was still in the "dark ages" of tortoise keeping. ( No water bowl, a diet of lettuce, no humidity, and super hot temperatures. ) It's a miracle that he...

    Eating Insulation???!?

Alright, I will put a wooden frame around it. It was the hard insulation, so I figured they would not mess with it, but I was wrong. It ate only a small bit, but I was still worried, so I'll put the wooden frame up, and it should be okay...
