Lol I'm the opposite I have always been in Texas and I can't get used to the cold! If you can't a home, might as well consider taking that trip to Houston and giving it to me :) hahaha best of luck!
This is the guide I usually follow, but I do agree about feeding fish and that they might contain parasites which is why I'm going to start breeding guppies soon!
Nice looking turtle you got there. One thing I would change about your tank or when you upgrade the tank is to remove the Gravel. Turtles can accidentally eat gravel and get impacted!

Yea I was looking at tank depot online. Seems like a good option, but wanted to wait until the best way/ intex pools are cheaper when all this pandemic thing subdues or atleast when shipping get back to normal. Those pools used to be 75-$150 for 435-840 gallons but have since gone up to $300-$400
