Thank you, it does get a little dusty but i have started giving it a slight misting spray each day, seems to be much better. Tiddles seems to enjoy the mud! Just makes bathing him a little messier. Lol

Sorry for the lack of response over the weekend, been a little busy. All is OK with Tiddles now, i got hold of a reflector for the light and he has perked up no end.
I had a sneaky feeling this was the issue but thought best to ask on here.

Hi, yes, i'll take one when i get home from work, temps are 72 at cool end and approx 92 at hot end. I have a 4ft viv, strip light is positioned just off centre towards hot end.

When i took on my Hermann's tortoise he came in a Viv with tortoise life substrate, is this a good choice? He seems happy but it gets very dusty and dry but if damp, i have a shallow water pool in with him, it sticks all over his legs etc. Should i spray it lightly to keep down...

Maybe if each user was prepared to make a minimal donation you could cover the running of the site that way, say maybe £ / $ per year. I would be willing to do that to keep the site ad free, or at least only Tortoise / pet related ads.
