    Try a vet that treats reptiles first if you can't find someone. The vet I use actually has a tortoise that lives in his office in Palm Harbor.

    Russian female but her name is Marlin. I have always loved turtles and had red eared sliders growing up and even as an adult. I inherited her from my grandson as their german shorthaired pointed kept trying to chew on her.

    Help, tortoise injured by dog

    Shell won't heal. My Russian was chewed on five years ago. She is fine but the shell is still chipped. See photo below. The original owner gave her to me to keep her safe from the dog. If your tortoise only has shell damage it should be fine -just a bit less than perfect.

    She looks fine to me and is healthy. I have had her over four years. Her shell is chipped as she was attacked by a dog - that is why I have her - the other owner could not keep her. (tThey got her as a baby.) One question I have is why we bathe a tortoise. They are land reptiles - not water...

    Large growth ring. Is this normal?

    My 4 yr old Russian also has a wide yellow band. The vet told me she is fat so I guess I feed her too often.
