    Update on my tortoise: my son took my tortoise to the vet today, turned out to be an abscess. The vet cut it out. See the picture. Now it’s time to heal. I have seen him yet because he’s hiding.

    I think taping has helped. I have a vet appt on Friday so hopefully we can determine what it is. I will update once I know.

    I don’t see anything that looks like parasites. I’ll try pulling his leg a bit, he definitely doesn’t like that. Lol.

    I am waiting on a call from a vet’s Office. She’s in Loxahatchee but comes to Stuart once a month. He’s had this for at least a month but I just noticed his leg is getting irritated from rubbing the shell. I’m going to try the tape until I can see the vet.

    my poor baby has something protruding from his right back leg, you can see it when he walks. I noticed the other day his shell is starting to rub a red spot on his leg and when he walks, he kind of drags it. It has to be hurting him. Is it possible to trim his shell to stop the rubbing? Not...

    i have a red footed tortoise which I got from my son. He is approximately 7 years old. We live in S. FL.
