So so sorry.....some thoughts I had....just curious are you in a place where 5G was just turned on....also are you on a well, could maybe be something in the water or is the yard really wet and have possible run off? Please don't let guilt consume you your grief of loosing a part of your family...
Welcome....one thing I didn't think of when I got my Archie was what if the power goes out especially in the winter and your little guys lights go out. I got a solar generator now near his cage and had to use it already this winter.
Hi everyone....I'm confused about the UVB and heat. Aren't they 2 different lights and I thought if you put the UVB overhead on a screen it reduces the rays the tort needs. I have my heat light on a screen facing down and a tube UVB light tied to the side of enclosure but I also have a a clamp...
Hi Dana, I have a Russian too and I love him to death, got him at Country Max, probably wild caught cuz he's always trying to escape. Went for a "walk" once and was gone for 9 days! When I found him I was so excited, he was sunning himself in a patch of sun in our woods. When I said his name he...
Quick question, do Russians need a cuddle bone...the kind you would give to a bird.....where do you put it (hang it on the enclosure or lay it on the substrate??
Hi everyone....do you have space for a 50 gallon rubbermaid tote....I've seen here on the forum people use those. For food my Archie loves the Flukers tortoise diet colored pellets but won't touch the grassland ones even when I disguise them. Definitely soak and break up. I also tried small...
Hi Ane....I had great advice here on the forum that helped me with my Russian Archie. It started to get cold and dark in NY and all he did was bury himself in his hide a way and sleep. I was told to wake him up every day and give him a warm bath ( I literally dragged him out kicking and...
I use both zoo med forest floor cypress mulch and reptile bark along with Zilloa ground English walnut shells and zoomed eco earth coconut fiber ....all bought and recommended at country max store where I got Archie....I have them in different areas in the enclosure....are those ok to use?
He's not in an enclosed space just retreats to the corner under a platform and ramp and buries himself in the shavings...the temp is low 70s at night and high 70s during the day. Outside in the enclosure under the light is 90-100 during the day and high 70s and 80s in other spots
Do you think I should or need to keep all the lights on the whole 14 hours if he is just sleeping in his hide-a-way. I know I should have them on after his bath and when he's eating but I feel like they arent making a difference in his behavior and just wasting electric and wearing out my bulbs
