Our girl is on the move! I tried to upload a video but said too big. We took her for a vet follow up and they gave us antibiotics for her eyes. They also got her nose cleared out. She is cruising around the house for periods of time. She still won’t eat!! We have been getting full syringes down...

Thank you for the soil testing ideas. I will research it. We live in the desert of Arizona and we have fruit groves and agriculture all around us. Anything could be in that dirt. We have also learned that the previous owner had his mulch pile where she was at. We have one as well it’s just on...

She didn’t. She thought maybe our thinking of something chemical in the dirt was accurate. She at first didn’t understand and said well if you leave a tortoise in direct sunlight with no shade and it’s hot they can get burned. We quickly said no she had shade over her enclosure and a burrow...

That would be a very cruel joke, unfortunately she was in that bad of shape ☹️ We saved her when we found her the first time and weren’t about to not do it again!

Thank you so much! This has been pretty traumatic obviously for her but for my husband and I as we thought we were giving her a bigger better space. I will keep you all posted as she recovers. We just want her to get eating and feel confident she will make a full recovery.

Our girl is going pretty well. They basically skinned her, Thankfully she did still have eyes! She is healing nicely. We are giving her shots, soaking her in iodine and putting a special cream on her daily. They have us a special food mix and pain meds but she is having challenges opening her...

We don’t know. We have been thinking maybe something in the dirt burned her. She was in a stock tank in the garage during winter and on the patio in summer until a few weeks before she went missing as we built her a bigger outdoor enclosure. We thought we were giving her more room to roam but...

Thank you, We will do the carrot soak today! It was about 3 weeks missing then we dug her up and it’s been about 4 weeks since we found her. I believe it is dead skin but it doesn’t seem to be shedding off. Is there any product we can run on her to encourage shedding? So total about 7 weeks...

Thank you! I’m not sure what you mean by dead limb? It is likely dead skin or dead something as if gets black and hard and we don’t know how to remove it, or if it hurts her or if the skin under is sensitive or even another lay of skin. We are new at this and never had a tortoise before i...

Hopefully I am posting this correctly!! Hi I am new to this site and have a Russian. She is about 8-10 years old. We found her about to cross the road and get hit a couple years ago. We took her to the vet and they said she was definitely a pet that had gotten out. We kept her as there were no...
