Not sure where the miscommunication lies here but in both cases we have “new to us torts”. It is perfectly normal for a tort to go through a dress shed in a brand new enclosure- new smells, etc. but no worries, I did not take some random person‘s word for it over the Internet. I did take mine in...
My personal recommendation is to invest in a nanny cam so you will be alerted when ur tort moves around and you can watch and observe from afar. This actually helped me a ton so I didn’t stress my new tort out, and I was able to tell the vet about behavioral changes (which caught an early RI)
My Sulcata is doing the same thing right now and it totally freaked me out! Got my guy a week ago today someone in a sulcata group
I am In said that it was a “stress shed”
Late to the party but Tardis and I are sending [emoji173]️ and healing energy your way! Tardis is about the size of that stone that came from your tort! [emoji43]
I am also new to tortoise keeping- is it standard practice to need to deworm a tort? I have horses so we have the vet check for internal parasites every 4-8 weeks ... is this something I will need to also do as my hatchling gets older?
