Okay so I have had my Russian Tortoise for a few months now (about 6 months) and I've of course tried different foods and one that I tried and are really confused about is Kale.
Now most (if not all) of the places that I looked on for food ideas said that Kale was a good choice. So I tried it...

Just saying because they say that they feed them twice a week, sometimes once a week and rarely once a month.

True and I would think that if you know that you're going to get one that you would do the proper research.
At least that's what I did before I even thought about getting one to see if I was able to properly take care of one.

Just remember that Humidity is good between 60 and 50% and 70% at the highest. Try to get a thermometer to know the temp and humidity.
Also, make sure that the tortoise has a varied diet and plenty of calcium or his shell will start pyramiding.

That's usually can be a sign that the tortoise doesn't have enough calcium in his diet. Or the tortoise has a high protein/low fiber diet. What do you feed her?
It can also be caused by low humidity.
