    Food question

Okay cool. My friend only ever fed him romaine and kale. I harvest weeds for medicine so half are going to him. That explains why he doesn't eat the softened grass pellets. He has nibbled out about 1/4 of one of the cuttlebones. Cactus pads are available here. Is the care for an adult leopard...

    Food question

I didn't buy, my friend had a tortoise for two years. I think she thought it was a desert tortoise but then found out it was a leopard tortoise and didn't want it. She gave it to me. What do you need in the picture. I am inexperienced at tortoise ID.

    Food question

Great, assuming my ID is correct he is a SA Leopard right? Means I should up the succulent/cactus pad because I haven't offered those at all. I got him a few months ago and now that the snow has mostly melted I'm trying to feed him better and get away from the store baught stuff.

    Food question

How accurate is this food pyramid for leopards? I have two cuttlebones in there, I feed him mostly leafy greens and weeds and grassland tortoise chow. Should i order mazuri and TNT? He is about 2 years old. Thanks!

    Custom Enclosure

As soon as I got Donatello from my friend I knew he would need a bigger home asap. Living in Utah an outdoor enclosure is out of the question (he is a leopard). The only place I could think of that would give him space and not take up an entire room in my house was under my bed. I jacked up my...

    So with grass...

Yeah it is. Besides my garden i have other vivariums and terrariums and I also practice Bonsai. (Bit of a green thumb lol) but so far so good, added some cat grass today but mostly sticking with broad leaf greens at the moment. His favorite seems to be Romain lettuce and kale but I am trying to...

    So with grass...

Okay cool that was the list I was looking at. Does the food pyramid picture in that section apply to leopards?

    So with grass...

The feeding for leopard tortoises in the care sheets is a link to the sulcata feeding sheet. Can you refer me to better information?

    So with grass...

Lol no I'm just a noob and couldn't tell what the difference is because their diet requirements seem the same. He is a leopard tortoise a friend gave me, few years old. I use tank out of habit from my other pets here is a pic of him and his enclosure. Sorry for the confusion still new at this...

    So with grass...

I can either grow this in a pot through the winter to give him clippings....grow this in the tank for him to munch on...or just cut it all and feed it to him...correct? The snow melted and this is the last grass clump until spring. I have a leopard sulcata.

    Sulcata Bathing Question

Yeah this helped. And that was my thinking. Right now I've been religious about bathtime but I think if I go out of town for a few days or forget it will be ok. I already change his water every day or two and his enclosure is super humid.

    Sulcata Bathing Question

Once my leopard turns 3 does he still need a bath every morning? It's convenient for him to poop in there but I was wondering how necessary it is since he climbs into his water dish on his own. I can always add isopods to help keep the tank clean.

    Pill bug cost.

Isopods are safe in tortoise enclosures right? I assume they are used as janitors to clean up old pieces of food.

Yeah and in the US you can order some exotics that you can't get in the pet store. Once I start/finish my new build I'm getting those. Luckily you learn how to keep the humidity and temps up. We use moss pits because the crabs like to dig around in them. Since Donatello started nibbling at the...

Yeah we call it a shell shop because believe it or not crabs have preferences for size, shell type, shell opening, opening size, coil length, shell weight, color etc. They also need more substrate than tortoises too funny enough. But they are fun, they climb, the dig, they run, they chirp, they...
