Haven't been around a lot for about a year! Things have been incredibly busy with my business, and with preparing for my wedding. I'm now back from my honeymoon, so life might calm down for a little while. Thought I'd share some wedding pictures, as a few people said they wanted to see them, as...
As you guys know, I love sharing photographs when I've been to animal attractions. I last went to Blackpool Zoo in Nov 2011, and I posted a thread which can be seen here:

Back then I enjoyed my visit, but was upset with the lack of care for...
Since I bought Emrys a new 'driveway' for his house, he's been sleeping on it in a really uncomfortable-looking way. I kept wanting to get a picture, but I never had the camera to hand and I'd wake him as I found it.
Got there today!
Today is Pepper Day.
I'm sure you all know Pepper Day. It's the day when your tortoise says "Sure, go ahead and put that camera right in my face. I have no problem with you taking 215 photographs in ten minutes, hoping you'll get a good one. You can do whatever you like, because you've...
It's a well-known fact that I can't go a few months without some new idea for Emrys' enclosure. It's happened again...
Some time towards the end of summer I rescued three frogs from the fate of the lawnmower, travelled miles trying to find a shop that sold a tank they'd be safe in and some...
Now, I'm all used to a few flies here and there, but this is a new one.
Just went to check on Emrys, and found this little guy walking around his enclosure:
The substrate is upwards of a month old, and I've not seen him before. I can only assume (and shudder at the thought) that he's come...
Got a new camera for Christmas. It's an upgrade from my last one, but I only intend on using it for six months before I get my first ever DSLR (yay!), so I've got to get plenty of use out of this one!
A couple of the pics I just took:
And one of his shell, to test the macro setting...
So, I went to see my aunt on Christmas Eve and my mum had given her a huge box to pass on, with loads of childhood pictures, school documents and the like.
Was digging through, and found this page in an album. October 1991, on (now closed) Discovery Island at Disney World, Florida.
Not...
A sick tortoise, which had been kept in a glass tank and had become severely constipated having eaten the gravel and stones on its cage floor, has recovered after an ‘adult sexual aid toy’ was used as a vibrating massager strapped to the underside of its shell...
I spent last night in a luxury hotel in the Lake District. Incredible experience.
Today, we went to the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and I thought I'd share the pictures. Didn't get many good photographs as the lighting was all wrong with the sun low for winter, but I picked out my...
For Christmas this year, Emrys was getting an 'expansion'.
His new enclosure arrived today, and it took much longer to build than we'd planned, but he seems very happy. Figured there was no harm in him having his gift almost a month early...
This is the size before:
Most recently...
I figure, since I'm back, I should probably update with a few new pictures of Emrys.
Emrys on the day I got him (16th September 2011) and a year on (16th September 2012):
How I caught him relaxing a week or two ago:
A picture taken just now:
Wow...it's been a while. Wonder if anyone remembers me?
I just saw Tyler on Twitter, which reminded me to get back here!
Checked my profile, and it turns out I was last here back in April. Emrys and I are both doing great, and I'm ready to get involved in TFO again.
I disappeared pretty...
So, I'd heard today might get up to tortoise temperatures. I got up nice and early this morning, was out mountain biking by about 9am and it was warm but grey. Towards the end of my ride it started raining, and I thought there'd be no chance of getting Emrys outside for the first time this year...
Oh no. It's happening again.
Emrys' enclosure is in need of its next clean. I was going to do it one evening this week, but I've found myself bored and it's 10am.
I've been browsing the internet looking for things to do and I've come across a big chain garden centre ten minutes from my...
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar behaviour with their tortoises, as I can't understand this?
Emrys seems to have developed a strange friendship with his cuttlefish. He's treating it like a security blanket. He lies on top of it sometimes, and he likes to drag it around...
