Mr Randy stopped eating about 4 weeks ago, i have periodically soaked him and finally this week he has decided that being tucked up under his dirt and leaves (indoors) that it was time for a rest, night night see you in the spring x
Hiya welcome to the site, it has been a brilliant font of knowledge for us all :-)
I noticed that you are using 'cat litter' I have to admit this was something I used at first because I was told it was a good thing to use. Unfortunately it was wrong advice :-( I now use in my indoor house...
looks like a little horsfield boy to me. He is very lucky to have found you, good luck and enjoy him. I have turned in to a total tortoise addict since my little boy joined my family :-)
I work full time and I never seem to see 'Randy' Andy out of his house or eat at all without pulling him out of his bed before I go to work...... so on Sunday on a rare day of not running around like a mad woman, I spent some time in the garden and thought I would wait and see :-). To entice...
Thank you Rosemary, I will try it is very tempting to keep checking and fussing over him but I know he needs to act naturally and get on with it, so if I can I am going to leave him now and see how he goes on

Wow your enclosure is coming on a treat :-) I have added a outdoor house to mine as of this weekend ... just got to figure out whether to add a heat source to it or not ... UK summers are not the greatest and i do want him to live outside until mid September without having to bring him in every...
Hiya, your little toroise looks very secure in his run, does he have somewhere to get out of the sun/rain? As a suggestion, he could also do with some barriers to climb over or hide behind maybe to give him some stimulation. Mine is still a work in progress (as they always are :0) ) I attached...
