    Odd size egg

@Yvonne G, weren't you telling everyone that you came out an odd shaped egg? Look how well you turned out!

    Aldabras and hay

I soaked a good helping of Orchid Grass hay for a couple of hours and mixed a handful of dried rose hips. The Aldabras couldn't get enough! No hesitation at all. Incidentally, my Leopards liked it too. This type of hay is easy to find and easy to keep on hand especially during the winter season...

    Aldabras and hay

Interesting. Appreciate the insight. I'm going to start mixing it with other items on the next feedings. I'll share their reactions.

    Kapidolo farms..

If you rinse supermarket greens so that they are slightly wet. Then, toss with any of the mixes, you'll likely get a great feeding response. I use way more than a few pinches! I coat greens with any mix. It makes them far more healthy. Great stuff Will! Keep up the great products!

    Reptisun 10.0 T5 for Redfoot???

Hi @ kkrista123, Where is Hatboro? There are a lot of unknowns right now with artificial UVB. Is he able to spend anytime outdoors? If he's able to spend sufficient time outdoors, you wouldn't really need the bulb.

Welcome home Peanut! Need advice please..

That’s good news! Slowly start to mix other greens in with the romaine. Mix it well otherwise he can pick around it.

Welcome home Peanut! Need advice please..

Another good thing to try is Romaine Lettuce. I've gotten some finicky feeders going real well on that. Then I just phase it out slowly.

@Trojan_48 any progress in food interest or activity levels?

Welcome home Peanut! Need advice please..

Is Peanut housed inside or outside? 95-100 is a good basking temp, but a fairly warm ambient temperature. If he's outside, make sure he's got good hide spots. If inside, I would lower the ambient temperature to about 85. Other than that, just let him settle in. After a few days to a week, you...

Very difficult to visually determine gender on any type of tortoise that is so young.

How to keep greens fresher, longer?

Most greens freeze well. You can blend (in a blender or food processor) with fruit or a prepared diet. My Red Foots can sometimes be picky about certain types of greens. If I blend the greens with some thing else, they have no problem.

    Juvenile Shyness

That's good to hear, Ben. My Aldab is about 4 years old now. It sounds it's reasonable to expect her shyness to decrease. How long have you been keeping Aldabs?

    Juvenile Shyness

I haven't been around many, unfortunately. The adults that I've seen videos of appear to be relatively outgoing - compared to say a Leopard. I have noticed a change around year 3-4 with other species.

Thank you. Yes, I was referring specifically to Aldabras.
