I use corrugated plastic cut to size for the floor. It's durable and waterproof. You can attach it to the wood using construction adhesive. I then put a bead of caulking around the edge. For the walls' I just use waterproof paint.
I've read that pancake tortoises do well in small groups. I have a young female and was thinking about getting another female. Does anyone have any practical experience in keeping a pair together? Is it a good idea or better to just stick with one?
I agree with Technocheese. 4x4 with a 4x2 second level is a good size enclosure for a single Russian. Also, your tortoise probably associates your hand with food. He may see your hand and think you have food for him. My hermanns will come running when he sees me putting my hand in his enclosure.
I purchased an eastern hermann's from them last year. He arrived on-time and healthy. He's been doing great ever since. Overall, my experience with them was good, although their prices are a little on the high side.
