Hawaiian Mourning Geckos (L. lugubris) for sale! (pickup required in North Texas)

My lovely mourning geckos have matured, and are producing offspring! I'm almost sad to sell them, they're so cute :) These are an all female species (excluding the rare case that a male is hatched, which has been recorded) that reproduce asexually. They are one of the few communal reptiles that...

Chipped beak: should I be worried?

I’m not really sure what constitutes as sharp for a tortoise beak, but I don’t think so

Chipped beak: should I be worried?

Hey! I took in Button, my Russian tortoise, about a year ago. His beak was pretty overgrown, and I trimmed it down to the best of my ability. Today, I came out and checked on him, and the front of his beak appears to have chipped off vertically. He is still active, and does not appear to have...

    Button’s thread

It’s officially been one year since Button came to me! He’s definitely come out of his shell (pun intended), and runs up to greet me every time he spots me. He’s so darn cute, and I’m so happy I was lucky enough to be able to take him in :)

    Russian tortoise

Pretty much, yes. Chain stores in America sell almost exclusively wild caught russians, unfortunately

Things you wish you knew before getting a tortoise

Pour a big pitcher of water into the substrate, and mix it around. alternatively, try pouring water into the corners of the enclosure. What substrate are you using?

    Button’s thread

Outdoor enclosure took about 15 minutes to set up, just including the walls and stuff, and indoor took me about a day of buying stuff and set up. Substrate took probably the most time, since I had to lug about 10 cubic feet of cypress mulch inside :p

    Macro lens pictures :)

I got a macro lens for my phone for Christmas, and I’m having tons of fun using it. Figured I’d go ahead and make a thread for them as they’re taken. Feel free to post your own macro lens pictures!

    Something in Curtis’s eye

Huge! about 15-16 inches now. An absolute pain to lug in and out of the house, considering I'm a 5 foot tall weakling :p

    Something in Curtis’s eye

GOOD NEWS! After a long soak in the bathtub, he managed to get it out! I gave him a few eyedrops to make sure he's alright, but he seems fine. Almost had a bit of a problem when I was bringing him back outside and rolled my ankle on the way down the stairs, but I sacrificed my knees to keep him...
