Wow, is that real? Can baby torties really be that tiny? Or do we have photoshop to thank for this? Either way, so freakin' cute!!!!

Cool thanks! I'm going to try to find some videos of torts up-righting themselves and see if it helps give me some idea of what might work on the bricks.

Thank you JoesMom & dmmj! That's great because I love potted plants (the tort munchable variety!) and was thinking about adding a planter for growing grasses too. In the mean time I'll find something to put there :)

Lol, guess I have!! Claire's had a Desert Tortoise for years who she adores and I actually never got what she saw in him until I took care of him for a couple months while she was selling her house and moving (a couple years back). I think there's just something lovely about a tortoise routine...

Help! Ned flipped onto his back using the wall!!

Photos of Ned's enclosure (aka my yard) especially the offending wall! The Wall!! I've seen him climbing up the wall to turn around before (even mid-wall) and I can sometimes hear the scraping from inside. You can see where he's chipped paint (but the large, higher cracks are old) It sort...

We're doing great! I truly adore him and he's changed my life in a very positive way. Super sad pyramiding :(

I saw this pic on a stock photo site and I actually felt sick. I've never seen pyramiding so bad before. AND because of this graphic some people will now think that this is what a normal healthy Sully looks like. That's sad too.

    Why is Pyramiding Bad?

I know pyramiding is bad for tortoises but it recently occurred to me that I'm not sure WHY... Does it cause internal problems? Or mobility issues? It it uncomfortable for them? Thanks!!
