  • Rémy has visited the vet again and they found a small mass behind his eye. Needs a CT scan to figure out what it is. Oh boy... ??
Update on Rèmy!! He has osteoarthritis caused by bad diet at the place he was born/taken care of (not my fault) and luckily if I take extra care of his calcium + D3 ratio he'll be okay and the condition shouldn't get worse at least!! The pet store was super responsible and they paid the medical bill, they care about their customers and animals too. Sometimes bad luck happens but I'm glad I noticed it in time! ???

Oh my, torts get that too?? I have it? Curious, how did you notice this? What was different. My DT didn’t have the best of diets in his first cpl years before I acquired him....he has some skuting on shell, although as he grows, it seems less pronounced. Thx!

Yeahhh... My HT had swollen back leg joints, around the knees. They looked like ball shaped when a leg should be more even. I showed a picture here and people agreed with me that I should take him to a vet. X-ray showed swollen joints, blood work suggested gout but the fluid sample concluded the diagnose as arthritis. Check your DT's legs!
Had to take Remy to a vet today because his joints are so swollen. After looking back the pics from the first day he seemed to already suffer from some swollen knees. The vet did x-ray, blood work and soft tissue fluid sample and suspected kidney disease or an infection. Tomorrow I will know more, but I'm very heartbroken.

I didn't mean with the pit, i just meant a tiny piece of the flesh, but i didn't realize they couldn't have fruit.

That's unfortunate, it does wonders for the gout in my toes and thumbs. Oh well...
Week 2 of owning my very own Greek tortoise, monitoring, learning, being a happy owner but I do feel like a mother would with a new baby, I'm such a fuzz, making extra sure he is well :tort: :<3:
